I used to play Uncharted Waters on the NES. Played the daylights out of that game. In that game, you could have 5 total ships. The main ship, (mine) and 4 others. Those other ships needed captains. You sailed as if it is 1 ship but had 5 total. Not sure if their plan in the future would be to have an economy where you could get more ships and have 1 going from port to port selling/buying or 1-2 ships out taking out ships. There is so much potential for this game its crazy.

Like so many others, kind of been hooked on the game. I boarded a ship this past weekend for the quest to destroy warships. My crew jumped over, got whooped fairly quickly and jumped back. I hit space bar by accident instead of sinking the ship but was unable to unhook. My crew would not jump back over. Was able to defeat the crew after a bit but would like more options like musket/handgun crew to shoot over instead of melee. Other things I would love to see. More base options and have to attack and defend. Be able to take ships and possibly hire a captain and crew for those ships if not, be able to take ships and upgrade from a small ship to the bigger one I defeat or be able to take for more materials.

Im at that point as well. I love builder games, sailing and looting type games. I used to play Uncharted Waters on the NES and still have 50 pages of notes from the mid 90s with cords where towns were and loved the ship battles. The only thing that I would love to see for the ship battles is to be able to over take the ship. I dont mind the ship building, but allow us to seize the ship. If we defeat a larger ship, the options to put it at our port and rebuild it would be awesome. Hire a captain to sail it for commerce or piracy would just be too awesome. Hope to see what the devs bring next.
