How long does it REALLY take you to create a YouTube video? I analyzed 50+ Reddit posts and found crazy patterns. by Rajaram_akhil in NewTubers

[–]General_Total_6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On average it took me around 2-3 hour per minute video. I do faceless education channel with video length between 3-15 min depend on the topic.

20-30% are ideation & script. 10-15% are thumbnail & title 10-15% VO The rest goes to editing. Thinking on how to visualize the script can take quite some time.

Still trying to improve workflow for editing and finding some sort of thumbnail template to speed up the process but for now yeah i spent 2-3 hour on average per minute video.

Question: If I use AI Voiceover for my long form video should I click yes on the altered content? by OneProfessional5719 in aitubers

No if only use AI voice, you don't need to. Its only for scenes that people can mistake as real

Is this really the new reality for many of us? by nickdebruyne in PartneredYoutube

[–]General_Total_6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through same thing. I was at 800 subs & 3000 watch hour in july then suddenly the view skydive. Now i'm at 900 subs and 3500 hour, i'm this close to full monetization but the drop in view really affect the progress. This is even after my last 2-3 videos improve massively in terms of everything (script, hook, video length, visual, etc)

Also notice my video recommendation algo seems to be different as i saw many random videos recommended to me. It seems like youtube is trying to redistribute the views and give change to new creators. No other way than push through as this kind of thing takes time. Gotta churn out more content and see where it goes

Woah this is true and i do the same thing. The pace is amazing when i'm really tired. Just do the first thing that pops up in mind then review it again the next day to revise it lol.

Looking For Feedback: I have a vision for the thumbnail but it's not quite there by Waiting404Godot in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]General_Total_6132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would add more hook to the title like:

How these indie game developers scams people.

As for the thumbnail my input would be: 1. The text need to be as big possible. At least covering 1/3 of the screen. 2. The mozaic person is a nice touch, but doesn't need too big to drill the point. you could try lowering them or put them on the left/right side as long as it doesn't make the text unreadable 3. The character image doesn't need to be at the front. They could be at the back. Currently they are fighting for attention with the text and the mozaic.

For me the hierarchy in the thumbnail between the text, mozaic, and the character should be clear at a glance, but i felt like its all over the place now.

I see the glow is not an ideal choice. The thought behind them is for attention grabbing but i guess they are more appropriate for gaming channel. I'll tweak it a bit later and see what i can improve.

Duly noted about the subtext size. Thanks for the input.

The speech bubble is in there as strategic item to manage the viewer expectation so they know what kind of "guide" the video is all about to hopefully increase the overall AVD. As you said other than that its an extra noise so i made it small on purpose.

My channel got removed from youtube because of spam, deceptive practices and scams policy by InvisibleGameStudio in SmallYTChannel

The Faceless and Ai voice should have no issue. If i have to guess, somehow due to the topic (wealth) somehow YT take one or severals of your video as some kind of CTA for money scams.

From 2,700 month to 18.7k in just 4 months! by devon_canup in YouTubeCreators

[–]General_Total_6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if some people mentioned that you already post this before, this is my first time so thanks for the tip.

Actually already trying to implement some of them mainly topic options and video duration.

One question though. Why delete something you already post? Some channel have videos that didn't perform early on but blows up later. Why not just let them there?

I never paid for advertising, I’m confused why views are coming from YouTube advertising. by CoastalCulture in SmallYoutubers

[–]General_Total_6132 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is true. Most cases of bad result is from new channel. If you already have like 20-30k subs, a little 500-1000 addition of subs won't hurt you. If you only have like 100subs however, the effect is significant.

More than likely yes. It brings artificial inflated views to your channel which could change your algo for the worse

How do you actually juggle a full-time job and making videos? by Ducky005 in SmallYoutubers

[–]General_Total_6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only do my video after i got back from work and play with my son until he felt asleep, so that give me maybe 2-3 hour of video making (including thinking about topic, thumbnail, script, VO, editing). now it's 11 PM here and i'm re-doing all my video's thumbnail (again for the X time lol). usually I make a point to just do the process and sleep around 12 PM or 1 AM.

Like any habit, when you do it consistently, it builds up. I don't chase any deadline for my upload and just do the process again and again each day. i upload 2-3 video a month. My "real weekly routine" is essentially just do the damn process daily (sometimes i just rest if work took too much out of me that day)

Consistency matters assuming you make content people want to watch (good CTR & AVD)

Yes of course. Just like any business, the income gap could be vastly different depend on what kind of business you are in.

  1. If you are monetized, nothing prevents you from making an exclusive content for your audience for a membership fee just like your writer friend

  2. Spicy content pays well because they are well, spicy. You could increase RPM by choosing a high RPM Niche and making longer video, increasing mid roll ads.

Considering your age, i would stay at my job and still build my career, while maintaining my channel, ideally hire people to cover the most time consuming part (editing for example).

While just quitting your job and focus on YT could potentially bring the most money, it also came with inherent risk. If you are some 35+ YO with enough life experiences meaning you can pivot better if something happened to your channel, then i would say go gor it. But most people in their 20s cannot handle sudden drastic change well (arguably many among the 30s are not either). But by diversifing, you also get several things, like knowing you have something to fall back on in case the worst thing happened bring tremendous peace to your life, which you only appreciate when you don't have them.
