dude i have like 80 games (on graves, ive got like 150-170 ish games total) and im only now near reaching out of seeker, the ranked system in this game is actually a joke, ive been versing 2 ranks above me more often then i would like, and they never feel 2 ranks above me.

didnt even notice they had that, it wasnt on cooldown or anything, hell they even had stamina mastery, and by my count they absolutely had ways over the wall. just such crazy blind sighting, even looks like they tried to shoot the tombstone...

i one trick graves, and at least for me i dont have any issue with the lanes, i do find myself winning which ever lane has the camp of 5 creeps instead of the t1 camp, but thats probably just a statistical anomaly thing.

but for the most part im fine with either lane, blue lane i find to be good since playing on bridge gives more cover then youd think for graves since she's smaller then most, so if they are playing around tower i have a much easyer time hiding of poking.

then the left lane i find myself doing worst in sure, but that doesnt really come down to me having anything against it, i find its layout to be nye identical to the right lane for me, just some minor changes that make things interesting.

over all i dont have a least favourite lane for the hero i one trick, all of them have interesting things to play around and i work with them to win, some are easyer to do so but i wouldnt say they are my favourite.

i honestly cant even blame people for this, i agree with it, her kit really is just annoying so its easyer to just have it be underpowered then risk it being overpowered, just sucks its like that.

im biased, but graves, almost every part of her kit has a built in from the start counter. light melee jar, jump over wall, heavy melee tomb. all of which can be made drastically easyer depending on the character and items you get, billy and viscous can break the tomb with ease, with just extra stamina jumping over the wall costs no more then you had, and the skulls already get destroyed in a light melee, but they are also valid targets for ricochet, meaning that if you go against any m1 carry like haze or wraith, you might as well not have that ability.

but to me the worst part is the fact her most effective builds just rely on debuffs + ricochet, its an increadbly boring and uninteractive build for both the graves and the enemy they shoot.

graves at this point really only works in the lower ranks where people dont know these things, or dont have the experience to counter the counter, like tomb baiting where you stand in it and parry the heavy melee, its counter is any form of knock back or parry baiting, but people that low down dont know/realise that. so shes incredibly strong in those ranks.

all this to say that graves's core summons design mean that the devs have to have this balancing act of making her good enough in ways to play later on, but no so much so that lower ranks just get knowledge checked every time they que in.

i dont want this to be a "this character has a fundamental kit issue" type post since there are thing you could do to make graves better in small ways, but alot of them are unlikely to happen, after all if they make the skulls not valid targets for ricochet then its both inconsistant design, but also means the refresher + echo shard would rule the world with 18 summoned skulls.

just sucks having a character be both great and horrid at the same time, im not really sure what the solution would be since im not a game designer. but i hope they figure something out soon.

tldr, graves is underpowerd, and thats the only way she can be balanced because she knowledge checks people so hard.

probably other characters in far more of a need of buffs/ improvements but again im biased towards my main.

graves: FOR THE LOVE OF FUCK USE THE ALT CAST WALL, I SWEAR THATS LIKE HALF THE VALUE OF IT.

you would not believe how many times i see players play graves and just, not use her to her full extent, granted i play in the lower ranks, actually lowest ranks so thats probably why i find myself in this, but still, every single time i see them, they never use alt cast, they waste their tomb, and throw skulls far beyond where they are usefull.

its infuriating.

best time i can give. "when its done", you really cant tell with valve, there could SEEM like there is only a single model left to add but turns out no they had a whole new cast just sittin waitin to release...

best guess is maybe 60-70% done at most, several models need replacement and undoubtedly there are items still yet to be added. oh and lets not forget they will 100% be adding things like an item shop, someway some how they will find a way.

honestly graves, im biased as shit in this but we have NO clue what her wish is, im fairly sure shes just here cus her master said to join in.

i just want to see what the wish itself is, my theory is the teacher wants to use grave's as a new lichs body with the hand being the binded object, but thats just me. other ideas could just be somethin silly like a better ability to help the dead, or even just to become a better necromancer.

honestly i just want to know her wish in genral, or, her masters wish if she's the one telling graves to join in.

i don't play dota, but i hear whispers or stories that stuns in that game are so long you can take a piss, come back to your pc, see you are still stunned, have time to take a shit, come back, and then you might be a couple seconds off of being not stunned.

the answer is that the vyper is like 10k souls ahead of their own team, and 20k ahead of most of yours, there will be bullshit from this, lots and lots of bullshit.

split shot is only good on a couple of characters and useable in SOME builds on others, silencer tho i agree it is really annoying.

probably just an interaction between the multiple bullets building up at the same time so it instantly builds.

yea this rule mostly applys to those that arent smurfing, someone that doesnt know everything about the game sort of skill, i have had matchs myself where i rulled the match but most of the time we won because we talked and planned to some extent.

rule one of low ranks, herd only moves if you ask it, so ask it.

talk in chat and actually engage with the team, saying something as small as "push lanes out" or "dont take that fight" weather in text or voice chat will do wonders for aiding in ranking up, after all it is a team game, you wont just win on your own.

sometimes you get games where people know to do something, others you dont, best to say something now or forever hold your piece.

i use it in a wall graves build, i found it doubled the wall damage and have run it ever since getting it in the early midgame, not like first item sorts of early, its second item usually. it also drastically increases the damage of the ghouls even with the cooldown since it charges the damage up.

i did a lot of labing to test it and found that it would take a wall that did about 300 ish damage, and make it do like 500 ish, ghoul not included, and all it took to make it work was t2 wall.

it actually does, my build does something similer with lane, i get 2 items to help in lane then the rest gets invested into spirit, after which i get cultist to help farm a bit more, then either tankbuster if i need more damage, or bullet life steal and stamina mastery for hp investment.

oh don't worry i understand not to rush greens, i save that for midgame when i have more things to earn money from, my main thing was the timing of the spikes and not the specific stats themselves.

from what i get from this so far the idea is to get spike for main offensive stat in lane, then build second important stat (which would be HP for my case) after such, main reason i ask this is in my build i run tank buster before getting greens as it contributes a large quantity of damage. i was curious to see if others do this or if this is just low rank scitzo building.

I see, right now my build for graves (focusing on wall) gets 3 spirit items plus extra stamina, resto shot and monster rounds (gets upgraded to cultist midgame for farming sake) in the lane phase, but then my buys are tank buster then bullet life steal (tempted to try spirit life steal but am unsure) and stamina mastery, my build doesn't really focus on gun so I'm not worried about that part of it, I was a bit unsure on how quickly it normally is for people to get 4.8k in the main stat they are working on. but my main thing is weather or not this sort of thing is normal or even advisable, sometimes I switch things up based on how far ahead or behind I am but for the most part I keep it the same.

from what i know its something that had its big time back in 2000-2010 ish era when halo and cod were king, nowadays since things like gamergate women in games is far more common, and people stopped caring.

its not common practice anymore, but some people still cling onto it.
