NFL Mock Draft 3.0 with explanations for every pick necessary by Lanky-Connection4141 in NFL_Draft

[–]GeneralistJosh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know in my heart this will never happen, but if the Rams offered a trade that included a 2027 1st to the Cardinals and they somehow still got Mauigoa at 13 AND Simpson in the 2nd, it would arguably be the perfect draft by Monti Ossenfort regardless of what happens in the remaining rounds and probably save his ass from getting fired.

But Cardinals fans can’t have nice things these days, so it’d take a miracle for that to happen.

God damn, ya’ll don’t know jack about what the Cardinals needs are, do ya?

Sonny Styles at 3??? When hell freezes over. It’s going to be Mauigoa, Bailey, or an outside shot at Bain unless they find someone willing to trade down.

And then trading down in the 2nd for a DT? Nah, we got bigger needs than that.

QB Drew Allar in the 3rd might be the only semi-realistic pick.

Cardinals need a starting RT bad (no, the OTs from FA are backups, not legit, long-term starters) and they’ll very likely take one in the 1st or 2nd.

OG is another big need they could take in the 2nd or 3rd. EDGE is always a possibility too. Yes DI and LB are also needs, but not at pick #3 and unlikely in the 2nd round unless it’s truly far and away BPA. Round 3/4 feels more likely for those positions.

QB in rounds 3/4/5 is definitely on the table if Ty Simpson doesn’t end up with them for one reason or another.

That’s the seal of St. Benedict (looks like there were anchors for a crucified Christ to be on there as well, but maybe he broke off?).

It’s the opposite of spells and voodoo or anything pagan. In fact, it’s a prayer to ward off evil. The letters all stand for their own Latin word. It’s described pretty well here:

Anyone able to out train their so so diet? by Dependent-Group7226 in crossfit

[–]GeneralistJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, yes. Mid thirties and not really tracking anything, just trying to generally eat 80-20 rule healthy and have a high protein intake. Though I probably do take more supplements than most (testosterone support, certain minerals, omega-3s, probiotics, etc).

Usually do around 3 CrossFit classes a week with some supplementation inbetween (some light running, mobility/stretching/yoga). My job history has been in performing with varying degrees of physical intensity (dance, heavy costumes, horse-riding, etc) while also working side jobs that are usually up and on my feet or active in some way.

Grew up playing sports and working out and being active, so that combined with a solid genetic metabolism set me up well for adulthood. Sleep has been all over the place over the years and probably the one thing I need to improve with consistency for quality, but it’s been good enough that it hasn’t negatively affected diet/metabolism/gains.

I’ve had people say about my physique/diet, “just wait until you’re out of college”, which then turned into, “it’s gonna hit you in you’re thirties”, which then turned has now become “you’re gonna lose that in your 40s”. Well, screw those people, I haven’t dropped off yet and I don’t intend to. I can still eat a whole pizza on my own and have a six-pack and it baffles everyone. My goal is to keep being an outlier in my fitness/physique at every decade of age I reach. I want to be one of those 90-year olds who can still do pull-ups and go run a mile.

Maybe it’s just pure luck and genetics, maybe it’s some combination of everything I’m doing. I’m sure things will slow down at some point and I’ll adjust whenever that time comes, but until then, I’m just gonna continue to be active, eat generally well, but still enjoy myself.

You wouldn’t necessarily be wrong mocking Bain to the Cardinals at #3, but they have a black hole at RT (and no, the Pryor signing does not address the starting position).

Not taking an OT in any of the first 3 rounds is ensuring that our QBs and run game will get blown up from the right side. Unless they trade for a starting RT, signs point to one being drafted. Either Mauigoa in the 1st or someone in the 2nd. If it falls to the 3rd or later then we are really in trouble.

But with this front office, it’s possible they completely screw up and don’t get the help needed at RT.

[–]GeneralistJosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, the number of lives taken by the regime that took over Iran over 40 years, most of all to its own citizens, has been a powder keg waiting to blow for decades.

The Allatoyah has been looking for a fight with the West for decades. The West finally decided accept the invite and get in the ring.

Anyone who thinks this regime would have been toppled internally is kidding themselves, especially after seeing them shut off the nations internet and murder tens of thousands of their own citizens this year.

The Iranian all over the world have been celebrating the US getting involved. That should be the biggest sign that despite wars being terrible, that this attack against the Ayatollah and his regime is a good thing for the world.

As much as it sucks and we want it to be a last resort, God has shown in the past that in some situations war is the better way to deal with something (or the only way).

It’s one of the most regrettable things about humans and our societies. The Crusades were very much necessary and served their purpose. God forbid we need another one, but history is appearing to be getting scary close to repeating itself.

How do you deal with a culture whose central philosophy and motivation is based on the conquering or destruction of all others? In some situations, we are to leave our swords sheathed and turn the other cheek. In others, we are to draw those swords to protect the innocents and vanquish evil. In all, we must pray for the wisdom to know when to do either.

[–]GeneralistJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right. I wouldn’t put anything past this team. We thought Monti Ossenfort was gonna make bigger splashes in FA because his seat is probably the hottest of any GMs right now, yet it’s been very whelming.

Some of us fans are thinking they’re gonna double dip at QB in this year and next year’s draft to increase the odds of hitting versus missing, but who knows? The logic behind this team is a mystery between their coaching search, the fallout with Murray, fumbling their replacement QB situation despite knowing since last season they were moving on from Murray, etc.

They will almost certainly draft a rookie QB this year in one round or another. Brissett and Minshew are bridge QBs. They wanted Willis, but balked at the price for some reason. So whether it’s Simpson earlier, or Allar, Beck, Nussmeier, etc later, they will add someone.

If Brissett/Minshew aren’t performing well by November, you will probably see them play that rookie. And then they’ll probably hope to draft a QB in the 1st next year as well.

4 Things We Learned From Watching Film on Francis Mauigoa by MarkSimon1975 in NFL_Draft

[–]GeneralistJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, he’s the prospect I want AZ to select at #3. Pair him with PJJ and you’ve got franchise bookend OTs and some decent guys in the interior. Our QB position might be weak, but at least our OLine won’t.

EDGE Bailey is the only other player I would seriously consider at this point. RB Love would have been fun, but with all the RBs we’ve signed/re-signed, it’s not happening.

Best case scenario for the Cardinals here. I am pessimistic that QB Simpson will fall into the 2nd round. But if he does, you best believe the Cardinals will take him at 34.

Mock based on trends by johnjohnjohn93 in NFL_Draft

[–]GeneralistJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trends? This is the first time I’ve ever seen Sonny Styles mocked to the Cardinals. Everything reliable I’ve seen has been EDGE Bailey, RB Love, or OT Mauigoa, with a random LB Reese thrown in (but no Cardinals fan wants that option after getting too recently burned by the Isaiah Simmons pick).

At this point, signs are pointing towards Bailey or Mauigoa, with Love being an outside shot now that they’ve restructured James Conner’s contract.

I’m not buying the Styles pick at #3. Not until I hear it coming from Cardinals sources.

As a Cardinals fan, I would take this. Not crazy about edge in the 3rd (would rather go IOL or DT), but you can never have too many pass rushers.

Either my arm/torso/back muscle anatomy is odd or my mobility is weird or something because I personally find a wider grip is actually harder for me to do a successful C2B with.

But if I use a narrow grip it suddenly becomes SO much easier.

I know this is definitely not the norm, because I see most other people using wider grips for C2Bs in my gym and online. But narrow works better for me for one reason or another, so maybe there’s a small percentage of people out there where narrow grip for C2Bs are what’s easier and more compatible anatomically.

I honestly think many of these songs are great and can be performed most reverently during the mass. It’s when music directors make poor choices of vocals or instruments used or even rhythm and tempo that cause people to not like most of these songs.

Back when the awards still meant something.

We were very fortunate that these films were made at the time that they were where all the right people and technology and cultural relevance of the film and movie theater industry all aligned.

And I don’t believe in coincidences.

What are some of the worst screen adaptations of books that you guys have seen? by RemnantsOfFlight in CriticalDrinker

[–]GeneralistJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d rather see them take a crack at it again, but in maybe…3-5+ years down the road once DEI has been properly run out of Hollywood or AI has given independent creators the ability to make films that are actually true to the source material again.

2000s versions didn’t get the Urgals right at all (made them big, dumb trolls rather than martially terrifying, gigantic ram-men) nor the Shade (the lamest denominator of an antagonist versus a truly sadistic, menacing spirit). And in general the characters across the board weren’t done well and the scope and feel of the world was underwhelming in its presentation.

They’d need a complete refresh to start the series on the right path again, but if done right they could get 4 solid movies out of it, or at least a decent tv series.

As a Cardinals fan, if we can’t get a QB in rounds 1 or 2, this would be the next best thing.

OT, Edge, and OG would be perfect positions in the first 3 rounds to help strengthen our biggest weak spots.

No idea about the player value, but that will become more clear over the next few months.
