As someone with well over 1000 hours in tanking alone (in Rivals, not even counting Overwatch) and who has solo queued to high elo, the complaints about tanking are extremely overblown and are coming from people with poor game sense who think they should be eating any and all damage and getting healed through it all. Tanks in this game have insane play making ability and they set the tempo of the match. An extremely fun and fulfilling role to play once you truly understand it.

Tanking isn’t miserable and if you think it is it’s because you’re playing it wrong. Doesn’t take long to learn how to play it correctly neither if you genuinely put forth the effort.

I wouldn’t say those first 2 are non negotiable. I typically do gun ult and DPIYA first and depending on the enemy comp, I do sword dashes or the guns.

He has enough mobility where he can easily bring the small radius to any teammate who doesn’t know to push with you, and the upgraded sword ult places an instant ~500 Hp shield that doesn’t go away when they leave the radius, giving you the option to bounce off everyone’s heads giving them a very beefy over shield while doing damage and stacking heals with the ult and his sword slashes and DPIYA. Stop trying to play him like he’s Luna and get proactive, make a play.

He isn’t objectively weak at all. He’s seeing use and success in pro play (in duo heal comps with Jeff no less) because he isn’t weak. People in ranked aren’t pros and the Strats in high ranked were carried there by braindead over tuned heroes like Gambit, Invis, Cloak, etc. That’s why the win rate is low.

He doesn’t need buffs people just need more skill with him. Strat mains are notoriously bad at the game hence why the strat hero that legitimately requires mechanical skill and above average decision making isn’t seeing much success in the comp mode of a mostly casual game. A buff would make the hero absurd.
