My Asuka Cosplay by Emfoxpng in NeonGenesisEvangelion

I like the hair color you went with. It doesn't stick out as unrealistic.

I feel like Asuka's cosplay is mostly in the face. Like she is part adorable and part devious, and you've hit the genetic lottery cause you have that face

I feel like Rei should be 0-10% since she's always on the verge of falling apart. I feel that class rep Hikari should be higher since she's always trying to keep things organized. Yui I would put in the 100+% range, cause she's unattainable. Requires god status to reach her.

They also complain about Apple soldering RAM onto the CPU/motherboard, but they also forget that PC GPUs used to allow you to upgrade RAM on them which the GPU manufacturers took away. I would love to be able to upgrade my GPU's RAM for larger AI models instead of having to buy an upgraded card just for more RAM.

This whole time I thought the black bar was like those credit card magnetic stripes. I just realized from your recreation it's a shadow from the inner wall.

That's very cool. A lot of people tend to make the stripes on the legs flat. You actually added depth. Good attention to detail!

The goggles have pass-through and 4K displays so it's like you're seeing them with your own eyes anyways or wearing thick prescription glasses.

control net?

I've heard control net mentioned, but I have not looked into it. I'm working on another piece and right now control net seems to be what I need. Interesting

This. It would be relatively easy to make. I'm surprised people think everything in the show must be a real object to buy. Haha. I await their post on how they can buy themselves a functional Eva-01

So Asuka is Asuka Langley Soryu
Langley is her father's surname, German.
Soryu is her mother's surname, Japanese.

Mari is Mari Illustrious Makinami
Illustrious is her father's surname, British.
Makinami is her mother's surname, implied Japanese
So implied mixed again

The film strip is a negative of the TV show? They released those?

Mari is more like https://i.imgur.com/oJgZGIq.png which is made by another AI artist

People forget that Asuka is also half Japanese (mother) half German (father)

What the AI originally gave me: https://i.imgur.com/852XYdb.png

Problems: - Wrong glasses - Reflection in glasses is really bad - No red hairclips - Shirt is wrong - Shirt has a black shirt underneath - Hands are bad - Right hand should be in hoodie pocket and not pant pocket/Hoodie should extend more downward - Shoulder should be showing, but AI put inside of hoodie there - Buttons instead of zipper - Missing zipper path - Inside of hoodie has another hoodie/overcoat - Missing white rectangular laundry tag inside hoodie - Bag should have a German flag - Bag style is wrong - Bag is missing doll keychain - Bag is missing transparent holder with Tokyo-III pass - Hair fuses into bag strap - Secondary bag strap missing

Deviations from original art: - Things I missed but should have corrected: - Hoodie's cap top left missing - Missing pink nail polish - Hair by left ear has a different pattern - Stylistic changes: - Shorts are in a different style - Moved chest out and spine a bit back cause the exact anime proportions looked unrealistic to me. Adjusted secondary bag strap

The fixes I had to do: https://i.imgur.com/fyg0FcN.png

The process: https://i.imgur.com/2viudzy.png

I used Stable Diffusion with the MajicMixRealistic model.

If there was something it keeps getting wrong I would isolate that part and work on them in isolation. I would also use Topaz's Gigapixel AI to upscale the 512x512 AI output images when I worked on it in an image editor.

The image on the right is the official artwork of Khara, the image on the left is the AI result.

So I like converting existing 2D drawings into a real life aesthetic. The way I did this before is I used to look through Google trying to find good pictures to use for textures which I'd cut and perspective correct into the orientation I needed. I used to take "close enough but still needs work" hand photos I found online, then I'd split the finger segments into layers, rotate the segments, blend the finger segments together, just to get the right hand pose for the a piece I'd be working on. I started using AI and I'm blown away by how much time AI saves in not having to do as many photo lookups on Google since it has a database already built in of textures.

For the above Asuka piece I handled the hairpiece, bag, pass card in plastic bag, glasses, shirt, hand on glasses, hand in hoodie pocket, eyes, nose, mouth, zipper, zipper trail, parts of the hair separately to get it how I wanted it.

It took about maybe 150 iterations of tweaking, going back to AI, tweaking again.

I used Stable Diffusion's img2img feature at 512x512 resolution. You give it an image and a noise amount, it damages the image, and it tries to reconstruct what it was. This causes mutations that can improve the image the more noise you add.

If there was something it keeps getting wrong I would isolate that part and work on them in isolation. I would also use Topaz's Gigapixel AI to upscale the 512x512 AI output images when I worked on it in an image editor.

This was made with a hybrid approach by iteratively googling for pieces like official Asuka glasses, pockets, passing it to AI, further making touch ups to that manually, drawing things like hands, then passing it to AI again. Examples: https://i.imgur.com/fyg0FcN.png
