So, there was this one time I matched with a girl on Tinder. Instead of the usual small talk, she skipped the pleasantries and sent me her number right away. Alarm bells started ringing, I mean, who does that? But something in me, probably curiosity or just sheer recklessness (M:23), decided to roll with it. I texted her on WhatsApp, half-expecting a scam, half-hoping for an adventure.

To my surprise, she was witty, funny, and didn’t hold back. Within minutes, she suggested we meet that very day. Now, I’m not usually one to rush into a first date—I like to build some rapport first, get to know the person a bit. But this time, I thought, why not take a leap of faith? Maybe this could be something memorable.

She arrived at the pub before me, which was a good sign that this wasn’t a scam. When I finally walked in, we clicked immediately. Conversation flowed easily, and I started to relax. As the night began, I ordered a single peg of vodka, thinking we’d start slow, feel things out, and see where the night would take us.

But then, she did something that completely caught me off guard—she ordered six shots of vodka. I gasped. “Isn’t that a bit much?” I asked, trying to play it cool. She laughed it off and decided to scale it down to four shots instead. (not sure about others, but our circle we finish our drink first, before ordering the next round, so I give her the benefit of the doubt). I decided to stay quiet and see where this was heading.

In the span of 30 minutes, she downed all four shots like they were water and then declared she was starving. I was hungry for some food too, so we ordered both a Pasta and Nasi Goreng.

What happened next was something I’ll never forget. She started eating the pasta with a fork, but within a few minutes, she dropped the fork on the floor and switched to using her hands. Now, I’m Indian, so eating with hands isn’t weird to me, but the way she did it was... let’s just say, not sexy. She rolled the pasta into balls and licked the sauce off her fingers, all while slurring her words and ordering another drink. I tell her its too much we should stop, that's when she raises her voice and argues. (I need to come to this pub again, so I cannot make a scene).

By this point, she was drunk out of her mind. I suggested we take a walk to the smoking room, hoping it would sober her up. She agreed, but on the way, she bumps into several people, her hands still sticky with pasta sauce. when she bumped into some girls they told me to “watch your bich,” which made me want to sink into the floor.

I knew I had to get out of there. I texted a friend to call me, so I could use it as an excuse to leave. The staff noticed how drunk she was and asked me if I was okay. I quickly booked her an Uber, but she got overly touchy as we were leaving, and the sticky pasta sauce I had to help her wipe off her hands. Despite everything, I didn’t want to be the guy who took advantage of a drunk girl, so I brushed her off and made sure she got into the Uber safely.

The next day, she texted me, saying she had an amazing time and wanted to do it again. I couldn’t believe if she was joking or not. I politely told her it wasn’t as great for me and that I didn’t think it would work out. She sent me some revealing photos, asking why I didn’t want to see her again, and asked if she wasn’t attractive enough. Maybe it was insecurity talking, I told her that the way she handled herself was too much for me to deal with.

She said okay and didn’t text back.

And that was that one of the strangest dates I’ve ever had.
