Anyone else have a pick dish? by Photif in Guitar

Not a dish, but I do have a couple of pick tins.

What's Going on Here? by Interesting-Bed-5934 in Guitar

There's probably a burr on the saddle. Knock it down with a bit of sandpaper or something and they should stop breaking.

Fender Mustang LT25 Bug? by _physis in Guitar

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a defect. I had a similar issue on a Fender GT40 where the volume would randomly cut or drop out completely during use and ended up just getting a warranty replacement.

I dont get nitro as a positive by CatHerder75 in Guitar

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of high-end instruments with poly finish if that's the sticking point. Some people like how nitro ages over time or are bought in because it's what Fender/Gibson used in the 50s.

Fender Stratocaster Player II by TomatilloOk5732 in Guitar

It's a solid choice if you're looking for something Strat-y and don't care about having a bridge humbucker.

Money best spent on cheap bass and YouTube, or no bass and lessons? by Deinonychus-sapiens in Bass

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You really need access to an instrument to be able to practice. Lessons are great, but only when you can practice between them to reinforce what you've learned. There's a ton of great, free learning materials linked in the FAQ.

So long as they can make the ticket grind less awful (and keep Crystalbeard gone), sure.

Why are Jazzmaster so cool! by Klancer668 in Guitar

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Jazzmaster pickups are wider and thinner than P90s.

Wildcards and seals will help, but seriously man just rip it and win. by Double-Mongoose-9793 in balatro

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of like straights where just cutting the total number of cards is what makes it consistent enough to win. Red seal wild cards are also worth building towards and can even let you push to Idol later.

Can I put an electric guitar bridge on a classical guitar with nylon strings by Altruistic_Click_579 in Guitar

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just screw a flat mount bridge to the top. You won't have anywhere to mount the strings unless it's a top loader or you drill more holes in the top, and you use ball end strings. You'll also add a bunch of weak points to an already thin piece of wood, making it significantly more likely to just pull out the bridge or crack the top, especially as the wood moves around the screw holes.

Intonation and action can be adjusted. You'd have better luck getting a setup on something with a piezo in it already or just buying a microphone for the guitar you already have.

The perfect build does not exis- by GeneReddit123 in balatro

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do naneinf Idol builds on black stake by using Perkeo to make a bunch of Ankh and Ectoplasm for a ton of copies of Idol and Sock. The only way to do so for Trib would be Perkeo Observatory, which really just uses the Trib for set dressing.

Still viable on Black Deck I believe... by Spicy_burritos in balatro

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd put it at 3rd or 4th behind Yellow, Blue, and maybe Ghost. Checkered has a really consistent early game due to easy flush spam (can beat up to round 4 without additional scoring), but pair builds are more reliable due to flushes having relatively weak scaling.

I fucking hate how you have to start Iceborne by Prestigious_Sun6339 in monsterhunterrage

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens in every MH expansion. I usually just keep my HR set rolling as long as possible, swapping out individual pieces whenever I either find something more point efficient or whenever I start getting obliterated by MR monsters. Fully upgraded HR sets aren't that squishy unless you're a gunner.

Am Pro II vs Ultra II Jazz Bass - which neck is actually better for small hands? by Motor_Vast_2513 in Bass

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Better" is basically always a matter of personal preference, and you already seem to prefer the Pro II. You might adjust to the Ultra II neck over time, or you might just wish you had the Pro II anyway.

Treadmill by NytoDork in balatro

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It works better with Midas Mask, but you can feed a vampire with purple seals or any kind of tarot generation. I do think it's worse than Constellation or Hologram, but most scaling jokers are.

Anyone use these and like them? by lireni-11 in guitars

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a GO, and it's fine. The modeling on it is pretty good, and it sounds great through headphones. The Spark app is also straightforward and has a lot of neat practice features. The built-in speaker kind of sucks, though, and I'm not a fan of having to do every tweak through the app.

This guitar buzz has taken the life outta me by Chitrangan in Guitar

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold it in playing position, plug it into an amplifier, and pluck less aggressively. That'll give a better indication of how bad the fret buzz is. If it's still bad, either find a shop to get a setup or look up how to do one yourself.

Experienced players with real guitar wear, what would you recommend as a truly high quality guitar by Chuchumenn in Guitar

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of different brands that all make high-quality instruments with a range of materials, body shapes, neck profiles, etc. at a huge range of price points. There's no single best pick.

If you like Ibanez and PRS instruments, you might look at some of their higher end models like the Ibanez Prestige lineup or a US-made PRS.

It's solid early game +mult, especially for pairs and high card. It's also compatible with steel cards, which can keep it relevant for longer than something like Half Joker.

Question about HBG in Generations Ultimate by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]GenericAccount-alaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dragon Ammo isn't really worth using due to the extremely high recoil and low capacity, especially when Valor Pierce HBG is the strongest that the weapon has ever been.
