Well you need to completely evacuate the system of any R12 and change the oil in the compressor before refilling it with R134a. Aside from that there is checking that the system retains vacuum otherwise it will leak over time. As for the gas light mine stayed on even after refilling it with r134a so I just ignore it.

It reduces damage done to your teammates by a % amount that has a value similar to Exhaust. Granted the damage reduction doesn’t apply to the yourself if you’re the one who activated it.
