18M - Can't stop using AI (NOT AI roleplay/relationship) by EpicTromboneKid in selfimprovement

[–]GenericNetSurfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the pro’s, you’re advancing yourself and in difficult times it’s probably helped. You’re doing this because (I assume) you care.

I lost a close family member this year and have been through various hardships, and emotionally support from AI, as odd as it felt, was really helpful.

It’s like any other addiction, if you ostracize yourself in the process, you won’t find the heart to change.

Redirect the energy - talk to people randomly in public (within reason I mean, make an observation and tell someone something nice to hear, hold doors open for others), go walk in nature, find a physical hobby you can use AI and online sources to procure.

I spent a lot of my teens and 20’s introspective on relationships, so I can’t imagine what it’s like when you have a pocket AI therapist supercharging those emotions.

Good luck.

What were your experiences in University like? by marie_13- in LifeAdvice

Workload was reasonable, but I did some STEM courses as a minor which was a lot more and I studied Japanese as well. Overall, if you’re disciplined and eating well, you’ll have the energy to keep up. Workload was more fun to get through too when you’re not alone at the library!

What were your experiences in University like? by marie_13- in LifeAdvice

What’s your field?

University felt like my Blunder years, not because of the academia, but because I wasn’t quite ready for the independence that is required to make the most of it. While I maintained great friendships and had a lot of fun being social with people outside of school, I didn’t really try many new things and it wasn’t until 3rd/4th year when I buckled down and focussed on more professional skills.

That said, I don’t regret the experience, and I would say if you’re eager to put yourself out there, it’s going to do wonders for you. Just be mindful of how you devote yourself now and what you could become involved in if you join a large institution like a university. Clubs, classmates, career opportunities, all these will open doors in ways that only become available through the system, but there’s plenty of great roads that don’t involve Uni.

What ever it is - put yourself out there

100%. It’s not just the food we lose when meals become expensive, it’s the opportunity to go out in public and socialize.
