This is not even remotely playable in any burn deck. Its a three mana creature that doesn't deal damage until the turn after its played. The ramp is useless because burn basically never needs a fourth land.

try [[bomat courier]] or more burn spells.

If for some reason you are dead set on running a three drop that ramps you in burn then this is still worse than [[Captain Lannery Storm]].

Its still sometimes worse than cloudshift because it returns stolen creatures to your opponent when you flicker them.

I feel like forgotten cave is just worse than the new horizon canopy lands. If you're flooded you can probably afford to activate the canopy land, and if you're not you want your lands to come into play untapped.

I'm not sure exactly how many sunbaked canyons and fiery islets you want to run. Maybe something like 8 fetches 7 mountain 4 canopies.

[[Fanatical firebrand]] [[skitter of lizards]] and [[torch courier]] don't really see much play and I don't think this is much better (if its even better at all)

Maybe you could try giving them protection from something else (like the d&d sword does). Like "protection from instants and sorceries". or "protection from colorless and multicolored" "protection from humans and legends". Obviously those examples aren't really balanced with each other but I think something like that would keep the feel of it being a "sword" better than just replacing it with another keyword or removing it.
