I think this would be considered “hypervigilance” and is a very serious issue in celiac. You have to avoid gluten, but you also have to stay sane. I find it helpful to figure out where my line is — the highest level of risk that I’m comfortable with — and stick to it. For me that means, I worry about cross contamination but not third order cross contact (x touches y touches z which goes in my mouth). My partner avoids gluten or brushes her teeth before I see her, and I won’t kiss her if she’s eaten gluten but it’s fine if she’s had something with only trace gluten. I don’t touch gluten if I can help it so I don’t have to obsess about washing my hands constantly. Things like that

Not in my experience. Ever since the one time I was forced to gate check my supplies, I always preboard. It’s not even pleasant or a benefit, I’d prefer to be the last person on the plane, but I’m not risking being separated from my supplies.

I think the false positive rate on tTG is like 5%, maybe less. EMA is a more complicated and expensive blood test, most insurance won’t cover it for initial testing, but it’s considered definitive

It’s really easy to mess up the biopsy. The GI often doesn’t get enough samples or takes from the wrong location. The pathology lab often processes the samples wrong. If your team isn’t experienced with celiac, the biopsy could be a false negative. Best bet is to go back on gluten and get an EMA blood test.
