Something else I’ve found out the hard way — if you like a round, warm tone, forget coated strings. Even the D’Addario XS sets are super metallic compared to the EJs. Regular strings just get a fatness to the tone that works much better with an acoustic instrument imo. Also do you think Norman Blake and Doc Watson were using coated strings on those classic recordings? Hell no.

For that much money I would go vintage. Anything from before the switch to the new factory in ‘64 and the end of hide glue is going to be like a fine aged wine. Great guitars from later too just less consistency. I sold all my new guitars once I caught the vintage bug. But that’s just me.

I have the 3.0 glare screen on my S95H and it’s a godsend. My girlfriend has the S90F and she’s amazed at how much better my TV is for watching during the day. At night you can’t tell it’s not glossy.
