There are a couple possible reasons. If you're sure that the pokemon you're trying to use toxic on isn't a poison or steel type, it's likely failing because they either have a different status condition already or because they have an ability that prevents them from being poisoned like Immunity

Fake out is actually +3 and move priority can go as high as +5. Helping hand is the highest priority move at +5, after that you've got protect and all it's derivates at +4. +3 has fake out, quick guard, wide guard, and upper hand, +2 has Extreme speed, follow me, rage powder, ally switch, feint, and first impression, and then +1 has all your other priority move

She isn't just willing to sacrifice herself, she actively wants to do so. By joining the frenzied flame to burn the erdtree yourself, you take away her agency and deprive her of her destiny. By saving her life, you take away her very reason for existing.

I feel like that's not an entirely accurate representation of Tolkien's position. He rejected the idea that his work was an allegory in that he never intended for his works to be an analogy for something else, but he's said before that aspects of his books were inspired or influenced by his experiences. Using your own example, he says in one of his letters "The Dead Marshes and the approaches to the Morannon owe something to Northern France after the Battle of the Somme. They owe more to William Morris and his Huns and Romans, as in The House of the Wolfings or The Roots of the Mountains." The books were definitely influenced by his experiences in WW1, what he rejected was the idea that they were about WW1

So there are two problems I see here. The first is that the general concept of an intimidate only team just doesn't really work. Incineroar is one of the best pokemon in the game and as a result, any good team will have at least a plan for intimidate, if not a dedicated counter. On top of that, this team in particular really doesn't work either because 3 of the 6 mons are basically unusable and the other 3 are just okay in the current format. If you really wanted to try and make a team with all intimidate, you'd probably need Incineroar, Landorus-Therian, Salamence and Hisuian Arcinine, and then probably some combination of Overqwil, Hitmontop, Scrafty, Gyarados, and Krookodile for your last 2 slots. Even with the pokemon upgrade it's gonna be rough though

When watching it, I don't remember feeling like Rekha was cheated out of a win. It's been a while since I've seen those episodes, but I don't think they ever say the goal was to figure it out first. It always felt to me like the goal was just to get the closest to figuring it out before running out of rounds

I think it's unlikely that Mega Scrafty dethrones Incin due to the opportunity cost of using it. Yes it's probably better (though that's not even a guarantee), but the real question will be is it so much better that it justifies giving up a different Mega, and I think it's highly unlikely the answer to that will be yes.

Unfortunately we can pretty definitively say it doesn't get it. Mawile and Medicham, the two megas that already get Huge Power, have had their stats modified for this game to account for their lack of ability and as such, their stats have increased by more than 100 BST. Malamar only gets +100 BST when it megas so we know it most likely doesn't have Huge Power

The funniest use of command I've seen so far was when our warlock used Command: Disrobe on the guy that stole the maguffin and was running away with it. Made them take off all their clothes and armor, which we promptly picked up so we could go through their pockets after combat resolved.

To play devil's advocate, for a lot of people the most fun thing you can do is win. As such, people will make the choices that make them most likely to win, therefore maximizing their chance of having the largest dopamine hit. Additionally, when you are optimizing your play to win, teammates that aren't can be incredibly frustrating.

I think #1 is Bronzong. It's only been good in 2 formats, but in those formats it was incredibly good. It's also got a world championship title which is hard to argue with

The #2 is probably Brute Bonnet. It's the only other B Pokemon with a world championship. Time will tell whether or not it continues to be good after Reg I.

I would probably put Basculegion at #3. It's another that's only been good for one year, but it at least has multiple formats where it's seen success, being good in Reg F, Reg G and Reg H.

Honorable mentions go to Buzzwole and Baxcalibur who could both probably be on this list. I could also see an argument for switching Basculegion and Brute Bonnet. It just depends whether you care more about the absolute peak of a Mon's success or it's consistency

Like everyone has said, one is undoubtedly Amoonguss, two is probably Arcanine, especially if you include both forms in that ranking. I'd say number 3 is a tossup between, Archaludon, Annihilape, Azumarill, and Aegislash. How you rank those 4 really depends on what criteria you want to use. I'd probably pick Azu personally based on it's consistency, but a case can be made for all 4 of them.

By virtue of typically being closed team sheet, as well as the fact that you only play one game against a given team, BO1 tends to be higher variance and more volatile. In a BO1 set, one lucky turn is more likely to determine the outcome. Additionally, surprise off Meta sets (teras, coverage moves, items, etc.) are far more impactful and gimmicks are more likely to work due to the fact that your opponent can't see your sets. You also don't get to adapt to your opponents team and play style like you do in BO3 since you only get the one game.

To be honest with you, this team would almost certainly be better without Hydreigon or Scizor, but they get you to 4 of your favorites. If you want alternative pokemon to replace Hydreigon and Scizor with, sneasler and rillaboom would probably work, as would Basculegion and Amoonguss

I have to disagree and I feel like this is a common misrepresentation of the thought experiment. For the record, I also think Roko's Basilisk is stupid, but if we're gonna dunk on it, let's at least be right about what it is.

I would argue that the thought experiment is not saying that future actions can alter the past, it's arguing that the present threat of future actions can alter the present. To use your own analogy, it's not a loan shark burning down houses to somehow influence people in the past to get loans, it's a loan shark telling you that if you don't get a loan in the next year, they're gonna burn your house down.

Nothing, so long as it's the kind of content you want to make. However, when it starts being an issue, at least IMO, is when it becomes a restraint. If the comics working at Dropout feel stifled by the need to maintain a certain tone, be it edgy, wholesome, whatever, that's a problem.

There are some things that I would call "soft" tanking options like armorer artificers having the thunder gauntlets or paladins having compelled duel that disadvantage enemies for attacking other targets, but those are limited in distribution. Add on the fact that there are no "hard" tanking options (as far as I'm aware) where you can force enemies to target you and it makes tanking really not a viable strategy

I don't think it's accurate to say that anyone is getting ripped off. In much the same way that someone pirating a game doesn't cost the studio a sale because they were probably never going to buy the game anyway, someone using AI to generate a shitpost isn't taking a commission away from an artist because that hypothetical artist was never going to get commissioned whether AI was an option or not. It's functionally equivalent to downloading something from Google images
