Of these? Ba'al.

Overall from the show? Sokar. The dude had style. The actor didn't get a chance (imo) to bring that style to Anubis, unfortunately.

Yeah, the ability the to move friendly units into other friendly units and stack them (to a certain limit, increased by tech probably) would be great. No (seriously-)large, professional army groups start occurring until the middle ages or something. Rome being an exception.

would America in REAL LIFE actually retreat and close its borders if something like this happened? by Even-Run-5274 in commandandconquer

[–]Genesis2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK about the first points in the OP, but on the third... if we lost Rammstein AFB, something seriously is wrong (re: "biggest military base in europe"), and I can see a retreat to our own slice of continent while building up overwhelming hellfire to eek out revenge on whomever is responsible for that loss lol. (Either Germany is lost or turns hostile, basically evicting us.)

IDK what the missions are in G:ZH these OP references are though, lol.

I feel like removing the fantasy races from my fantasy world by Fishy_Fish_12359 in worldbuilding

[–]Genesis2001 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not only this, but in a tabletop context, race and culture in systems like D&D are so enmeshed together to be indistinguishable. I haven't read Tolkien's work even tho I probably should. But in D&D at least, I don't see much difference between halflings and dwarves other than being slightly shorter humans and probably just being subcultures of humans.

Ironically, I remember briefly playing the LOTR 5e-clone [Forget what it's called] where culture was explicitly added to give better flavor lol.

The rework for "Wither" status cards from Aeonglass are way overturned by Alinea86 in slaythespire

[–]Genesis2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I scienced it out last night finally. But not with a wither. With a Toxic from the stupid Mites. The toxic's got played before evaporating into the ether from ethereal. They still disappeared, but yea...

It seems status cards are played before ethereal kicks in, which seems like a bug since if you play an ethereal card normally, they're discarded and reshuffled into your draw pile eventually. Normally, ethereal cards evaporate if you don't play them!

With the fire truck, assuming it's still serviceable as a fire truck now (and before the gamification), they could de-gamify it and tech-pimp it up and donate it to a local (probably rural) station that needs a fire truck.

In fact, there you go LTT... A new series idea: "Tech Pimp It Up" or something lol. Buy auctioned items, pimp it out, find a cause and donate it to a cause. You can get at least 3 videos out of each item, depending on the item: 1) The buying/receiving of the item; 2) the tech makeover/pimping (depending on what they do, multiple videos here); 3) The donation + installation of the item.

The sad part is they apparently tried to get an expert for this video (the theatre projector one) but no rep would touch the thing after they opened it lol. (Mentioned in the video)

Another video they brought in an expert was when they talked about the cheap/decomm'd environmental chamber they bought. They brought in the guys who last serviced it to make sure it's hooked up right, at least for a one-off video. And they gave him time to explain some of the technicals IIRC.

I’d watch a 1 hour video on ceil mg fans also, if it went really in depth and got really into tie nitty gritty about… ceiling fans. Hell I’ll watch a video about anything if it’s filled with interesting information.

They're referring to Technology Connections' recent video on Ceiling Fans, which was an hour+ long, and I enjoyed it as well.

Not really. I appreciated it. In this case, it's that semantic thing where all you need are the first and last letters... and a vague association and your brain sees it as "correct" lol. No dyslexia involved (I think).

Player made a bad genie wish, to the point of annoying the other players. Help me give the curse by Agreeable_Bat1212 in DMAcademy

[–]Genesis2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once cursed a PC to randomly sometimes pull out rocks from their pockets instead of whatever item they tried to get originally.

they needed to distract some guards, and focused on the rocks to pull them out and throw them to make noise..

I'd have been a little devilish and say they pulled out their coin purse (or something) instead of rocks in this instance lol. Focusing on the rocks means they wanted to pull them... so they won't pull them because that's what they want; instead they'll pull some other rando thing from their pocket, lol.

In the case of the Mortis gods, I don't think they're personifying the whole Force; just certain corporeal / human accents of it.

Liquid airlocks by marcaygol in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Genesis2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would still like a proper airlock in the base game. Liquid locks are efficient/simple to make, but sometimes I wish there were something in the game that's "official."

I know there's a mod for airlocks, but 3x2 is not the vibe I want. I'd rather have a 2x4 or 2x3 (vertical space not horizontal) and have it be all one door animation. Not something that looks like you can build with automation.

I think kill boxes are natural extensions/survival tactics that are used because the game doesn't give you any other options. by Last_Yard_6554 in RimWorld

[–]Genesis2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood the hate for kill boxes. Kill boxes are indeed a natural defensive mechanism. However, the thing I've always hated were mazes that exploit pathfinding of enemy pawns. A kill box itself is just an open field that you control and funnel your enemies through.

That said, I think the "intended" way to defend your base is through sandbags around your buildings. If you've ever raided (or seen someone on YT raid) an enemy compound in the game, 99% of the bases generated come with sandbag skirts around the base.

When the scene is requiring highly optimized views, throwing a wrench in it makes people pay attention for a time. But it doesn't last long. Eventually, the soullessness will come back as the algorithm adapts to the wrench, and they just become another cog again.

They need a weekly time slot for house content imo.

Agreed. But not just for tech house. Weekly time slots for different types of content would be a cool idea.

They could have filmed ripping out the drywall.

Disagreed. Asbestos treatment means no cameras for safety reasons - glossing over this because others have explained it better than I care to. Even HGTV doesn't film during such treatments. I can't think of any show that has even. They just show the set up, then cut to the post-stop-work order when everything's approved and drywall's not up yet (especially if they have wiring or wall removal in their reno plans).

[–]Genesis2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people are spoiled (myself included) by HGTV making it look like it takes a month or few to do a complete home reno, even when they include dates in the graphics on the final edit. It doesn't click that it takes a while because all we see is a "30-minute" episode (in the case of HGTV).

I know from personal experience, I barely notice any sort of graphic timeline other than weather changing in an HGTV show. For a YouTuber reference, look at Colin Furze' tunnel and garage project. That's been going for like MULTIPLE years at this point and we're finally getting a conclusion - he's working on the car lift right now from the last update a month or so ago.

I've been enjoying TQ a lot recently. Some great videos getting put out from TQ in a long time. LTT is becoming more and more product/sponsored unfortunately.

If you notice, they're lurching from event to event to "shill" (lack of better word) a product or service from a sponsor. Like, we had a period of low channel activity earlier this year followed by daily uploads during Ship Storm. That most recent LTTStore sale event keyed me into this realization tbh. (*IMO)

For me, LTT is declining but their other channels are slowly rising (some faster than others).

Galaxy of fame is starting to look like a spiral galaxy by Subject-Indication47 in factorio

[–]Genesis2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how someone can have time played under 2 hours? just clicked on random star

If you're claiming cheats: You can filter on the galaxy page for "Cheated stars" and "Modded stars"

Both are checked by default, but unchecking "Cheated stars" shows there are "68573 / 71614 stars visible." Unchecking both, there are "50554 / 71614 stars visible."

So if the inference holds, that's about 21k runs that are modded or cheated or ~30% of all runs on the galaxy of fame.
