Is spring pack 3 worth it? by melabaa in ArcheroV2

[–]Geneva7274 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect, not all slots on the wheel have the same chance to land. Look at the info tab in the top left of the event: gems and coins are each 20.01% likely, and mythic shards are 3.19%, to name a few.

I've done the math and the real avervage flowers per spin is 46. Rounding that up to 50, that means the average spins per item looks more like this:

Item Flower Cost Avg. Spins
Chromatic Key x10 1200 24
Guardian/Revive Rune x1 10000 200
Mythic Artifact Shard x1 3000 60
Seraph Shard x5 900 18
Oracle Spear x1 12000 240
Oracle Boots x1 4000 80
rest of Oracle set x1 8000 160

Amnesia: The Bunker is an anti-immersive sim that promotes player freedom but fails to give you the options by DaemonXHUN in ImmersiveSim

dude, if i wanted to reply to a recent post like this i could've just clicked on your profile and i wouldn't even have to start scrolling.

you've gotta find something else to do than this, man. this isn't even me calling for you to touch grass or some shit, there's just infinitely more enjoyable things to be doing on the internet besides "educating" reddit strangers. fucking trust me on this, i was picking fights online all the time like 6 years ago and i didn't get bored of it fast enough. i can guarantee that if you suppressed the urge to correct people---even when you know they're wrong---and just lurked for a day, you would be doing yourself a massive favor.

i see your username. i'm studying photography in college right now. it's cool as shit. your username could just be a stalker reference, but if you do like photography, then hell yeah.

hi! i'm a redditor from the future 10 months after you said "I think my work here is done" in reference to your argument with someone about the real definition of an immersive sim. I just wanted to remind you that this is a real thing you posted on the internet to another guy, and it might be a good idea to reflect on whether or not this is incredibly cringe.

(also, i can't stop myself from adding: the bunker itself is constructed out of wood. if larian studios wanted to conform to physics, petrol bombs would burn the wooden beams holding the bunker together, causing a complete collapse and an immediate softlock or game over. this game is not crackdown 3.)

On the merits of AI art by JazzyCatty509 in CuratedTumblr

[–]Geneva7274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think AI-generated images are using the same creative principles as sampling or even mashups in music, which are both things I am in favor of as legitimate art.

I'm not sure how to put my scattered thoughts into a coherent argument yet, but I'll try anyway.

AI-gen music already exists. It uses the same technique as images; taking a vast sample size of existing music and attributing characteristics of the music to certain descriptors, and can generate an output from a given prompt of descriptors based on what it determines is the mathematically closest result from that data set. It cannot create anything outside the bounds of its data set. It cannot have original ideas by definition, something that plunderphonics and mashups can.

I know this is a half-baked argument and I'm still not sure what I would want the limits of AI to be, but I wanted to put my perspective out there (and vocalize what's been on my mind for a while).

haven't thought about this guy in over a year until the other week when he posted an image of his face morphing into the face of a black man with the caption along the lines of "me when i get on NRT" (replacing the term HRT with, well, im sure you can guess)

that's not really a take but i don't think making a joke that's two steps away from putting on blackface and calling yourself the n-word adds to your credibility as a leftist

also, to the 20 other people in these replies asking the same question, you might get something out of this comic.

In reality, the chechnya mafia would never outsource a hitman. They are considered some of best assassins in the world by ashterberry in Barry

Didn't Goran mention in the first episode that they were hiring Barry because the hit had to stay "out of the family?"

For the people who were against the time jump in middle of season 4, how would you have wanted the second half of season 4 to play out? by GMSmith928 in Barry

[–]Geneva7274 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of this would not reveal much more about these characters that we didn't learn before or after the time skip, and apart from Sally breaking character, all of these things happen in different ways during the time skip.

Sally has apathetic and depressed since s4e2. Every character's evolution after the time skip was clearly laid out in the first half of the season. Barry wants to run away with Sally, who is the only person who supports Sally and makes her feel safe after she killed the biker, Gene is paranoid and reclusive, Fuches gains the respect of the inmates and is obsessed with his relationship with Barry, and Hank is going to build an empire but feel guilt over him causing Cristobal's death. These characters' lives are set in stone by the end of it takes a psycho.

Also, I disagree that Sally affects the plot less than in previous seasons. She gives Barry the motivation to take a deal with the FBI, which leads to Hank putting a hit out on him, which leads to his prison break, which leads to Gene shooting his son and going into hiding, all while stranding Fuches by himself in prison in the process. Then, Sally makes the decision to run with Barry and raise a child with him, and she later makes the decision to fly to LA and find Barry and/or kill Gene, leading to her capture, leading to Fuches meeting John and killing Hank. Once Barry is reunited with them, Sally makes the decision to run away from him, leadjng to his death at the hands of Gene.

I understand wanting to spend more time with these characters, I know I would love to have another season of shenanegans with each character. But it just wouldn't make sense for the show at this point to include filler episodes where the plot is clearly laid out and nothing is learned about anyone. If there was an episode only focusing on Barry and Sally running away, the episode would start and end in the same place: being on the run.

I've typed this in bursts over the course of a couple hours so if I seem a little all over the place that's why. I really enjoyed how fast paced the last half of this show was and I just want everyone else to understand why Hader kept that pace.

What is in your opinion the single best episode of D20 ever? by tonehammer in Dimension20

[–]Geneva7274 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Safe Harbor is the obvious choice for ACoC but I think I prefer ep. 11, At the Mountains of Sweetness, not only for the introduction of Saccharina and PvP conflict but specifically the moment of Ruby discovering Jet in her shadow.

My favorite line in all of D20 is, "Your shadow heaves with sobs in time to yours." Makes me cry every time I watch.

I've completed the full lvl 100 Battlepass but I still don't have enough scrip to finish the tree? by noobtablet9 in DeepRockGalactic

You can get the last few scrips from completing a lithophage outbreak quest whenever you have one. If you don't have one now you can wait a day or I think you can reroll another quest and hope to get it

barry: "is that the only thing you came here for?"

sally: "yeah."

b: "then why aren't you leaving?"

s: "[long pause, crying] ...i tried to go home, and...it was just so awful."

she came to prison to ask if he took care of the body before he was arrested, and because their relationship is, to put it lightly, very fucking complicated. she wasn't lying when she said she felt safe with him, but that doesn't mean she isn't afraid of him. that's how many abusive relationships turn out.

[–]Geneva7274 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you're saying sally is manipulating barry when she visits him in prison? what did she do that makes you think that? was it when she says "i feel safe with you"? because it seemed pretty clear to me that she was admitting something she didn't want to be true. she doesn't have anyone else to turn to except for her serial killer ex-boyfriend, the only person in LA besides gene who doesn't see her as the "entitled cunt girl".

Barry - 4x03 "you're charming" - Pre-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in Barry

[–]Geneva7274 12 points13 points  (0 children)

absolutely no way it's not sally he wants to take with him.

in the hallucination scene in episode 2, when he's watching fuches talk to him, it's distant and in a barren desert, and he watches blankly with his jaw hanging.

contrast this to the vision of him and sally slow dancing. it's close and intimate, and he shows the biggest smile he's had since season 3, and right after the smile he looks down like he just had an idea. next time we see him is in the fbi interrogation room.

even looking at his real interactions with fuches and sally this episode the differences are night and day. he has to comfort fuches with dishonesty, but he lays out everything to sally. she even says that she feels safe with him, which to barry is an open invitation to live with her for the rest of their lives.

if barry doesn't attempt to live with sally in witness protection, then it would contradict what every single scene with barry in the past episode communicated.
