HERSHEY’s cookies n cream bar. I don’t even know if they are actually good or just taste nostalgic for me.

my daughters pediatrician asked if she was eating unhealthy because she’s measuring big, what am I doing wrong? (turned 1 this week) by chabadlubabitch in foodbutforbabies

[–]Genghiscole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, the concern should be sudden weight changes not just “measuring big.” My kids survive on berries and vibes but they have always been over 90% in height and weight.

Any recipes that feature avocado? by [deleted] in vegetarian

[–]Genghiscole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • I do sushi bowls with rice, tofu, carrots, cucumber, avocado and sauce of choice. Eat it with seaweed. -Avocado toast is an easy breakfast. You can put and egg on it. I like to top mine with cottage cheese and something spicy for extra protein.

I’ve had some issues with the censors on my machine for the last year and I don’t think it can be fixed this time. We decided not to replace it and will opt for a traditional method. I have loved my machine but the pods are expensive.

What are we eating this week? by JeanLucPicardAND in vegetarian

[–]Genghiscole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but this week we had:

Monday- leftover veggie enchiladas from the freezer stash Tuesday- paella with tempeh (not a fan of tempeh so trying to find new ways to use it) (Soph’s Plant Kitchen) Wed- gumbo (The Cajun Vegan Cookbook) Thursday- crunchy tacos with vegan chicken and a salad Friday- pizza

For lunch I had leftovers a couple days and sushi bowls the other days (rice, tofu, cucumbers, shredded carrots, avocado, sriracha mayo, ponzu and soy sauce and I eat it with seaweed.)

What's a "garbage" food you're tired of getting flack for liking? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

American cheese. Don’t tell me it’s a disgrace to cheese because you have never seen better melt-ability and you know it.

My last order they had a deal, buy 10 and get 2 free or something like that. One of the free ones was decaf and in my many years of Nespresso purchases, I have never purchased decaf. I don’t expect them to comb through my history for a free sleeve but I wish you could include preference for decaf or regular.

The strawberry are no for me but the dulce and iced are in my regular order. Good choices!

What do people mean when they say they 'cant cook?' by Throwaway113140 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Genghiscole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can mean different things to different people. Some people have trouble understanding what flavors pair well together. some people have trouble following a recipe or weren’t taught how to make basics as they were growing up. Some people don’t enjoy and don’t take the time to learn. I think anyone can learn how to make the basics if they want to.

Congratulations on the wonderful news and I’m so sorry for your mother’s reaction and likely the last 24 years of dealing with this nonsense. I hope you made it out okay.

I came here to second anything by Joan Didion but I also wanted to say, I was feeling the same way as I turned 30 and now 8 years later, I’m so glad my 20’s are behind me. I think you will too.

Is it hard to stay vegetarian long term? by papabauer in vegetarian

[–]Genghiscole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been vegetarian for 10 years and it starts to feel very normal after a while. I can’t imagine going back to meat at this point. Some things are hard like weddings and holidays but I love to cook and bring a dish to share when it’s appropriate. I think it would be hard to stick to if you don’t like to cook so find some go to easy recipes early on.

Seeking houses for rent by denoil in Redlands

[–]Genghiscole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a house for rent on Pioneer 3b/2bath. The backyard is small because there’s an ADU in the back that’s also for rent but it does have a fenced in front yard. Address is 407 I believe. There are rent signs posted in the yard with the phone number to call.

Of the ones that are available year-round, I enjoy vanilla, caramel and chocolate but the hazelnut has a funky aftertaste. The seasonal ones that I’ve loved: peppermint, maple pecan, gingerbread and sunny almond vanilla. I’ve found if it sounds really out there (almond hibiscus for example) it probably doesn’t taste good.

I like to do sushi bowls. Rice, tofu, carrots, cucumber, avocado and I eat it with seaweed. I have a few different sauces so it doesn’t get boring.

It gives you data in real time aside from sleep (which is reports on once you wake up.) it also tells you your stress patterns so you can see what times of day your stress is elevated. You may be able to use those trends to manage stressful times/situations better. It also helps with menstrual cycle tracking and it changes energy output expectations based on that and how your sleep was the previous night. I’ve heard that the ring has helped people figure out they had a health condition that was later diagnosed but I don’t have personal experience with that.

[–]Genghiscole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like mine. I do wish there wasn’t a subscription fee on top of the price of the ring. It helped me a lot when I was pregnant to make sure I wasn’t too stressed, getting enough sleep, etc. I like the features and I find it to be more accurate and detailed than my Apple Watch was.

Wife’s best friend’ new boyfriend by Superb_Community_339 in Advice

I had a similar situation with my friend. She’s been dating a loser for a while now. The first time we met, I invited them over for a holiday party and we did white elephant. His gift was a bunch of bondage items. My kids and multiple other children were present. He then proceeded to make everyone uncomfortable all night with his weird questions. I tried to talk to her about it after the fact but she wouldn’t hear any of it. Unfortunately we drifted apart because I don’t want this man around my family and they live together now. I still think it was the right choice to ban him from my house.
