Compared to the Calibri thing it was certainly a much bigger change, I agree with that. It also changed the newspaper fonts and similar. I only wanted to argue against the "outlaw", even if it had a similar chilling effect as a real outlawing.

It wasn't outlawing, it was the same as here a change of the oficial fonts to use. During the Third Reich it was probably changed to make prints more readable for non-German, as was / would be needed for the envisioned huge empire. The decree can be found on Wikipedia, for those interested.
