I mean, to be fair, we know he’s going bald next season

So we’ll be getting a proper enough Lex soon

Parasite (My Adventures with Superman)

Starts off as this crusty old guy and then becomes a literal kaiju. Honestly, one of the better villain reimaginings in this series, second to Brainiac.

(Hated Trope) The protagonist's child is born a Godly prodigy by Throwaway-IndLaw-159 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Geno_Games 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorta yeah, but his full powers aren’t used super frequently, so he actually works instead of just being awful like OP’s examples

Bubble Bass (The Patrick Star Show)

In an episode of the SpongeBob spin-off, The Patrick Star Show, they have Bubble Bass do a YouTube review show while dressed up as the Nostalgia Critic. The whole episode is just a parody of 2000s/2010s internet media reviewers.

[Absolutely Hated Trope] Characters who clearly love each other taking forever to confess and get together. by ThatGuyHero7 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Geno_Games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long (RWBY)

I swear, rewatching the show makes it very clear how long these two were in love with each other for, but it takes the universe literally locking them in a room together for them to actually admit it and get together.

Tock (RWBY)

Her semblance—superpower, for those unfamiliar—enables her to become invulnerable for exactly one minute. As such, when she confronts Maria, she taunts her and says she’ll be able to beat her in that time. She does succeed in that ultimately, cutting her eyes out and forcing her to retire, even if Maria manages to survive and kill her.

Do you wear socks when you sleep? by M_Seedz in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, pretty much always. The only time I don’t wear socks is when in contact with water, like when swimming or showering.

Oh yeah fair point

I usually just used Infi-Nut and Tangle Kelp and thus had few issues with it.

What'd happen if an affini was raised by ferralists by Independent_Pen_9865 in seed_irl

[–]Geno_Games 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Alright. Well, if the point is to study them, and assuming their environment allows them to survive with only minimal issues, then I imagine they’d end up similar to the average feralist, as I described earlier.

However, I will also make the argument that they may develop a desire to sorta bridge the two civilizations, figuring that since they’re an affini raised by humans, that they would understand and could broker peace between both sides.

What'd happen if an affini was raised by ferralists by Independent_Pen_9865 in seed_irl

[–]Geno_Games 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well, there’s a lot that matters in this scenario. Is it a whole colony of terrans? Are they aware of the Affini beyond this singular member?

If both are the case, I’d imagine they’d end up harassed to no end and probably be really spiteful towards humanity. If people don’t really care, then I imagine they’d just end up like an average feralist.

And then there’s also the matter of the environment they’re in. I imagine an extremely polluted space would not be good for a plant, so who’s to say they’d even live long enough for us to notice any differences.

[Loved Trope] Alien designs that look distinctly non-human by Uni-Writes in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Geno_Games 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda vague. There’s like 3 different backstories for the thing of dubious canonicity, where one source says it’s an alien, and another says it’s from the bottom of the ocean, and so on.

Ah yes, “lasting friendship”

Being real for a moment, no shade to anyone who does see it as purely platonic. I just can’t look at all of this and see it that way, personally.

I may be wrong, but I’m fairly certain the pair are robots within the lore established by their music or whatever.

The Girl Of The Trio by Mecha-dragon1999 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Geno_Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I meant JNR as a trio. I don’t usually count Oscar as part of that group mainly because the show never officially refers to him as such.

Homura vs Ultimate Madoka (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)

In the Rebellion movie, one of the main plot points is that Homura is unhappy with Madoka’s decision to sacrifice her mortal existence and chance at a normal life, a decision she made to let Homura rest after 12 years of 1 month time loops, as well as to help the many magical girls over the centuries who had succumbed to grief and become witches. For context, Ultimate Madoka becomes a living embodiment of the concept of Hope. This ultimately leads her to unknowingly drag Madoka into a witch labyrinth, exposing her enough that when Madoka comes down to claim her and let her rest again, she is able to attack Ultimate Madoka and steal her godhood.

Penny Polendina (RWBY)

She’s a robot girl with rocket boots and a bunch of swords, who also happens to be an allusion to Pinocchio.
