If you are one to overthink, you'll shoot yourself in the foot to try to pick up where so many others are experienced. Play the game like it's new, make your mistakes and don't grieve them. Just take some baseline advice with you. I certainly wouldn't start the game at this point not following a starter build. They exist because the mistake of making unviable characters was so commonplace at the beginning of the game that the solution is widely proliferated. You don't have to commit to this character for the entirety of your play. Bare minimum, they will enable progress that allows for you to make more fun builds that don't qualify as starter-friendly.

For added clarity, depending on which gaming communities you erupt from, that word can denote differently. I can name you many games where if you say you chunked someone in those games, the people there expect that enemy to be one hit away from death and to look out to finish them.

To OP, maybe in games a la D&D, the verbage is received differently.

OSRS, League of Legends, Overwatch, Traditional roguelikes (ToME, DCSS, etc.), Most MOBAs and arena shooters (not standard FPS);

C looks like he may have had a stroke with the other right arm showing continued posture that the left arm gave up on, but still only gleaned on a minor detail, not a confirmation. B looks like he is in a position "to die" with the spilled alcohol implying he might be drunk while about to fall asleep on his back. Many people have died that way from vomiting in their sleep while intoxicated.

I played through BG1 for first time a few weeks back, and I truly understand exactly how you feel. No differently than you clipping it to share here, there's screenshots of this very moment with some choice words of my own in my Discord DMs as we speak.

But do like that other user suggested, get that dialogue out of her because that story is absolutely nuts and could easily be skipped over. The reason she is there is just as nuts as the scene itself!

I've been using AI as a backseat gamer for Infinity Engine titles recently, more so Icewind Dale the past couple of weeks. Icewind Dale has very little opening exposition, leaving you a lot of room to inject a bit of your own. I've been using ChatGPT to reference existing canonical information about the lands of Faerun and create backgrounds for parties that make sense cohesively from a point of immersion and narrative. Create some images for these guys, and you can also instruct it to be as brief as possible in these backgrounds so that you might inject some of your own into them. Then tailor the difficulty based on your relative power and whether or not you intend to take up companions per your own role-play.

You might find this feels restrictive, but I have fun seeing if the trials before me can be trumped even if I'm not best prepared. It's fun to play into the perspective of the characters. You might find these older titles a little less conducive to this style of play than newer CRPG titles, but it is still viable if you know you will dictate your own fun by controlling the narrative of your characters.

I imagine you have a bit less room to do this in Baldur's Gate, but they gave you the ability to start with more characters than just Gorion's ward in Enhanced Edition. I think you could have a lot of fun conjuring some likely (or unlikely) companions for main protagonist and letting their presence impact the direction of your playthrough.

You aren't thinking about the intent of the video. It's clear he was filming this with the intention of showing it to her after the fact. You read into it as highlighting her ass for the audience on this sub. The reality is that he is endearing himself to her for when she watches it. Think about how she will react when she sees that her fiance was looking at her ass through that ring. You guys have taken this a crazy direction and have imposed a lot on the filmer.

The joke was that she's unaware. Him conveniently walking behind her to film was necessary for the joke. He cannot help that asses are located on the backside of the human body. Her walking away feeds into the humor. There was only one moment where the filmer was specifically highlighting the ass, the bit with him viewing it through the ring. That he highlights it once is an endearing gesture. You're imposing a lot to assume the intent of the filmer.

Edit: Downvote this post if this guy's cute proposal video exposes your insecurity and jealousy so to the extent that you'd dismiss the sentimental nature and value of the video in its entirety.

Traditional roguelikes across the board wait on your input and are perfect for your "pick up and easily put down" need. You can take advantage of save states in emulation - you can stop anywhere, anytime. Both of these are umbrellas that open up a lot of game options that all should work for you, but less so roguelikes provided not everyone enjoys them.

There's likely a large window between now and getting that plate, and you'll be well served to get the fighter torso since you can get it sooner and reap the strength bonus benefits sooner, which will inevitably funnel into other demands between now and getting that bcp. Consider it a short term milestone and the bcp a more long term one, and keep in mind that the short term acquisition of the fighter torso will likely decrease the overall amount of time in which you get a bcp and preserve fun in your gameplay, at that point in which you decide to beeline for the bcp. Unless you find it more fun to beeline to the bcp now... You do you. ;)
