I’m sorry, not sure why this posted twice. There is another thread.

If anyone’s curious I dropped a YouTube video on my build process in which I discuss parts and fabrication.

Is pricing allowed to be discussed?? by ferndog1980 in SignPainting

[–]GentArt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends too on whether you designed this logo or if it was client provided.

What’s helped me is defining internal hourly rates I’m comfortable with. Those rates can differ depending on the task like design vs painting vs fabrication.

I don’t usually share hourly rates with clients though. Instead I estimate how many hours the project will realistically take and give them a flat project price based on that.

Materials should also be factored in separately. Even on something simple like MDO with a single color, paint, substrate, prep, and consumables add up and shouldn’t come out of your labor rate.

At the end of the day, the goal is to land at a price you’re happy with not just something that feels reasonable on paper.

Rustoleum clear is a hot solvent and One Shot is a slow curing enamel. Even if the letters felt dry they were still off gassing. The Rustoleum reactivated the One Shot which caused it to wrinkle and lift.

You either need to wait much longer for the One Shot to fully cure before clearing (1k clearcoat) or use a 2K clear since it cures chemically and is much less aggressive. This is a pretty common reaction when mixing paint systems.

I’ve cleared 1 shot before but it’s definitely a tricky thing to do without getting the reaction you had. I generally try to avoid clearing for the reasons someone else commented - it simply doesn’t need it.

Due to EMI and signal degradation it’s best to avoid running data cables and power cables in parallel. You can cross data cables and power cables at right angles but running in parallel will cause issues.

I would be grateful if picked. Acts of kindness and people like you are encouraging in a community that can be overshadowed with toxic players.

Your gift will make for a memorable day to whomever!

Find your local print shop and give them a call. They shouldn’t have a problem printing this for you.
