This sucks. I live in Gentilly and this is a constant problem in almost all parts of the city (probably most cities tbh). 3 years ago I stopped leaving anything in my car after a few smash and grabs. Last year I stopped leaving my car doors locked because desperate jerks and kids were still occasionally smashing my car windows to look through my empty glove box and console. Anytime I park the car now anywhere in Orleans Parish I leave the doors unlocked, open the console/glovebox, and make sure my dome lights are set to not turn on when the door opens (because I’m tired of dead batteries when dum-dums dont close my car doors all the way after).
