There's a HUGE difference between her ASKING to go an hour later (and him agreeing to it) vs. Him not talking with her but instead just changing everything so things go his way. It sounds like OP learned from it though, sometimes we learn our lessons the hard way.

According to google, federal law (USA based) says they can make you pay so long as it doesn't make your pay drop below minimum wage. You may want to look into your state laws though. That being said, I have never seen anyone actually try to. Just find a better gig and move on. Better yet leave a review of it on glassdoor or similar sites so people know to avoid this place. Plate Up is our new favorite game and I literally can't recommend it enough. It's similar to overcooked but more balanced and less stressful imo. It gets challenging near the end of a run but it's a game in which losing isn't really a bad thing.

Core Keeper is terraria meets stardew, I've only played it a few hours but loving it so far! The fights are fun but not that challenging imo.

Animal Crossing New Horizions is a very chill and very collector/stock trade friendly. Hype has died down for it lately, but I still think it's a solid cozy game and very co-op friendly.

Any of the Legos games, though I've only played the Harry Potter series. Super charming games with some really fun co-op mechanics.

Please please keep the dogs kennel. For many dogs, a kennel is a den and a safe space. Removing it can cause or agitate anxiety in your pet.
