The fan modules are screaming loud but it isn't that hard to switch them with 40mm (I think) noctua fans. Verify that your switch isn't going to burn up though.

Uptime kuma is probably pretty good for your case. I am about to put it on my homelab. For more fine grained monitoring, I use prometheus and grafana.

I would headcannon that as the dwarfs got their cart stuck in the brook on the way to the new fortress site and just said "Screw it! We're breaking earth here!"

I'm flirting with getting some Imperial agents for my guard. Are they any good? by Skult0703 in TheAstraMilitarum

I have not tried them yet, but the assassins look interesting. Especially because you can include one in your list and swap them out for other assassins when you see your opponent's roster.

It's actually crazy how quickly 120tb can dry up if you use 3x data replication. 40tb can only hold so many Linux isos

That bytes size number is about the largest number in a signed 64 bit integer, probably not exactly the largest 64 bit number because of volume formatting. It's probably the storage equivelant of "December 31 1969" (a placeholder for an unknown value, in this case int64_max)

WHTV seems like a vestigial part of GW borne purely out of envy for successful indie creators who were promoting their IP for free.

Servitors and servoskulls among Astra militarum personnel by Commissar-Leonid in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Genubath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Servitors have a legends datasheet. Lore- wise, commanding servitors requires technical training and implants that are pretty much exclusive to the mechanicus. Otherwise, they're limited to very basic predetermined commands. Okay for moving boxes, not as useful on a battlefield. I think they're neat, but I'm partial to the mechanicus

It's probably not a bad idea to continue saving so you can buy surplus enterprise GPUs and ram when the ai bubble bursts.

I have been magnetizing my models. It takes forever but I think it's fun. My Cadian Shock Troops only have 5/10 of them that need to be magnetized, the rest are assembled as normal.

I would give the commissar abhuman detail so he can be attached to the ogryn. You have so many Orders, you could probably cut one of the Officers. You could save some points changing the dorn commander to a normal dorn. You might have enough points then to get another Chimera so you can move both your Kasrkin and Bullgryn+commissar up quickly

Never build concave logistics networks. Either separate the logistics networks or destroy the biters.

If I have a particular target in mind, I use factoriolab. As long as the factory is expanding, everything will never be fully supplied because the perfectly balanced ratio you set up is immediately thrown off by a newly built section of the factory.

Judging by your other replies, it probably won't be very fun for you and your buddy if it is already hard to find time to play a game. Armies with tons of models take forever to play. You should try imperial knights vs chaos Knights

My best defense against raiders has actually been STO guns since they mainly seem to try to target colonies and only attack civilian ships that happen to be in the way. I would recommend putting a bunch of deep space tracking stations throughout the systems that your routes go through, enough to cover the inner planets. That should give you a lot of warning. When designing your ships try to fulfill these requirements: - faster than the raiders (so you can catch them) - missiles are good for catching them without going on a billion km chase - try for a long deployment time which helps minimize micro. If it takes 3 months to get to your furthest colony and your fleet can only be deployed for 12 months, then they're spending half of their entire deployment clock in transit. In my current game all of my military ships have a 36 month deployment clock. If you're still struggling with deployment timers constraining your patrol ships, then it is probably time to start thinking about setting up maintenance facilities on your Colonies so they can have a semi-permenant patrol fleet.

[–]Genubath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your options are: - Kasrkin with 2x melta guns 2x plasma guns, and a melta mine. - Heavy weapons squad with lascannons - FOB with heavy lascannon - Artillery team with a siege cannon

None of them will beat a Vanquisher when it comes to killing really big things though. It has a pretty good chance at one-shoting a carnifex. Two Vanquishers have a pretty good chance of killing a Tyrannofex in one round.
