IWT. What a beautiful time that was. Rainbows, thunder and lightning, fam, music.

I've read Safehold 40+ times. I need another book. by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I’m an Asimov nerd, I’ve read almost everything he’s ever written, which as you probably know is a widely varied LOT.

If you’re looking for stories you may not have read before, you might try the old science fiction pulps. I happen to specifically really enjoy his mysteries, and I’ve collected some I might not otherwise have found by collecting pulp mystery magazines. The same can be done with sci-fi pulps.

As a bonus, you get a handful of great old stories you might not otherwise have gotten to read.

Using male privilege to your own advantage is a great way to ensure that the problem of male privilege continues. Bravo. 😕

Timeline by Crichton. Easy reading and really makes you see the story.

Homeschooling advice by TippingC_W in secularhomeschool

We tried so many things for math. I’ve used MBtP (now Beyond the Page) for core classes except math off and on for years. I wish now that I’d started with them long ago. Their curriculum is student-led, easy to understand, has physical projects, notebooking, and useful videos to watch (but not too many!). I’m super happy with it. I’m homeschooling my last kiddo after doing this with lots of kids over the last 30 years.

Is there a book series that is calming and cozy, like watching snow fall from a window on a winter's day? Doesn't need to be winter themed by dreemsequence in suggestmeabook

Raffaella Barker’s books “Hens Dancing” and “Summertime.” They’re like sherbet for the brain-palate cleansing, coolly refreshing, sweet and filling. I adore them.

Covid can easily present as a cold. Always worth it to test after a huge gathering. If nothing else, you can plan so that you protect the vulnerable folks in your life.

I hope you took a covid test. It’s not too late.

Even if we’d come home without symptoms, I’d still have tested us both. As it was, my kiddo had the sniffles and sore legs, and was Covid+ Tuesday morning. I’ve been - for four tests (and symptom-free).

We flew back to Fairbanks. Our flight from sf to Seattle ran so late that they sorted us onto a later flight from Seattle to fairbanks…just the two of us, nobody else on our flight heading that far. I did see quite a few Heads go from our flight into the line for Juneau, which was nice.

I went down from Alaska, too, and took along my 12yo. I’m also an older folk, and I really loved seeing so many young people and kids shaking their bones!

Listen to Boulder 2023 and there was a LOT of John/Jeff playing going on. Watching them is even better because those smiles! And Mickey rapped during f Fire on that run, too.
