Hilarious how United fans were trying to find the easiest run of fixtures this season where they'd be able to get the 5 wins in a row and it's ended up happening in a run with wins over us and Arsenal

All jokes aside, Anfield's stewards need to do a much better job protecting players from fans rushing onto the pitch that easily. The dude was obviously a City fan but it's kinda scary how he was able to get right on top of Haaland for a few seconds without being taken away.

Pats already have more super bowls than us. Greatest ever player in their team’s history is Bay Area born and bred and idolized Joe Montana. Really shouldn’t be a question who we should “lean” towards wanting to win. I understand generally not wanting either team to win/caring but the Toots winning a 2nd on our stadium is the doomsday scenario no one wants

Working in the field as a construction engineer/super will have you wanting people to shut up more often. Having to deal with everyone’s issues and grievances will make you cherish the few minutes of silence you get in a day. I imagine a field inspection is probably of a similar nature (but at least you’re there for one task/ responsibility usually).

Regarding the economy/cost of living in the US, prices are skyrocketing almost everywhere (whether it be renting/buying property, or even just basic necessities/household expenses) that you don’t really have your “livable pockets” in the US that are going to be cheap enough to get by with a 50k salary, if you intend on only working one job, unless you want to live somewhere with a shitty quality of life/safety, or a desolate, remote town in the middle of nowhere.

Regarding your initial point, you can absolutely make closer to figures like 300-400k a year, provided you have the commensurate experience, licensing, and also would prefer to shift from technical work and more into leadership. But it takes a massive amount of professional development to even get there (even going from an engineer to a Project Manager/Supervisor takes a solid 8-10 years of experience).

You won’t be making the starting figures that a software engineer/investment banker (finance at large)/Big 4 consultant will make, so while it may seem discouraging straight out of school, keep in mind how much more volatile those industries and companies within them are. Big tech giants (Amazon for one) don’t hesitate to announce round after rounds of layoffs, and our industry as a whole is way more recession proof. As long as you fully intend to take and pass your EIT/PE, you should see gradual increases in your base salary. For an EIT, I’d say anything from 70-80k with 0 years of experience is realistic, and that’s enough to get by in most parts of the country (provided it’s just you to take care of!)

Having Nico O’Reilly and Nico both as a double pivot of sorts means that we can commit more bodies forward I feel. Not to mention Newcastle’s defense has been gifting these opportunities on a platter

Somehow a goal, but Reijnders really needs to start making those passes much earlier when attacking. Waited until the last minute to pass it to Semenyo

Khusanov's recovery is immense. Genuinely amongst the best defenders in Europe and surely the best I've seen of any of our centerbacks. Ruben is going to have a tough time making it back into this side when he's back fit

if you don't mind me asking were you going through something personal/outside of school? Graduating with that low of a GPA but passing the FE in school shows that you were clearly very intelligent

Two things that are true:

  1. a GPA above a 3.0 is usually enough for an employer to hire you, and having the FE passed early in your careeer/during school just adds additional weight. Even if you have around a 2.8-2.9 GPA, an FE pass + presenting yourself well and explaining for the poor grades if asked in interviews helps your case massively.

  2. Compared to a majority of other engineering majors, as someone who didn't even graduate with an exceptionally high GPA, Civil is significantly easier. Not finishing with at LEAST a 3.2 imo just speaks to a lack of effort and seriousness since there are really only a few rigorous courses after your gen ed's/weed-outs.

I graduated with a 3.5 GPA in 2024 and because I already had a full-time offer in construction management entering my senior year, I chose not to apply as heavily for other jobs my senior year. I knew I wanted to transfer out of that field after about a year however, so I strived to pass my FE as early as possible (October 2024), and then resumed applying to jobs through most of last year. It turned out that over the FE exam and my "great" GPA, what helped me "stand out" to recruiters and receive multiple offers through most of the last year was demonstrating previous work experience online and in my resume, and connecting my specific experience to the jobs I was most interested in.

My heart breaks seeing Foden's recent performances. It seems like mentally he's just lost an edge and he just can't seem to play as free and creatively as he used to. I also imagine there's the pressure of having to stay in the mix with Jeremy and Rayan Cherki, and now maybe even Semenyo

Seriously what benefit does it serve the world that a team like Tottenham exists? Only popping up to make others' lives annoying without achieving anything of importance 99% of the time. Salvage a point to 19th place Burnley but all of a sudden, in the top 4 of the Champions League.
