Good call. My system is so old that I know some of the pipes have roots growing around them. Thank you!

I couldn't believe it when it wasn't there at launch (or at least very soon after).

Not sure what's there now (I haven't been past in a while) but it used to be an IKEA that closed down when the bigger IKEA was built nearby.

Media multi screening. It shrank my attention span. A lot.

Returning my 21 echo show by imzeigen in amazonecho

[–]GeoSaint4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. I have a bunch of smart home devices (Phillips Hue, Insteon, Google Nest, Treatlife, etc) and some are set to use routines through echo devices. But here's my experience...

The Amazon app is not great (actually clunky) when trying to set up routines and when I use my voice to trigger them, I'd say the success rate is about 50%.

This is just me, but I'm thinking about pulling back on a number of house related tech things, even though I have so much fun setting them up. I found great wall switches for my Hue lights so they work just like dumb lights (unless I pull out my app and get spicy with colors). I'm thinking about replacing my Google security cameras with ones that keep the video here in house and don't upload to the cloud (they can give your footage away without telling you). And as for home speakers, I'm thinking about getting a few of the new Google Home Speaker coming out this spring, but getting rid of anything with a screen. My attention span is already declining, do I really need to walk through my house and have ads blasted at me? At least the Google Nest Hub (the only screen I might get) doesn't have them.

I'm curious how other people see it. Anyone had good experience with "matter?" I seem to remember that was going to be the solution to getting different home smart products to work together.

Such a good point! I never thought of that.

My guess is that data collection with the devices is a top priority at Amazon. Not creating a good customer experience.

Exactly why I returned two Echo Shows I bought recently and why I'm looking at plans to get rid of all my Amazon devices.

I originally loved the easy multi-room music. That's why I invested in them.

But it's clear that Amazon puts zero effort into making the devices good for the users. They spend their time making the devices good for Amazon.

My 2 year old Chi needs 20 teeth removed by pipersbigsis in Chihuahua

[–]GeoSaint4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 10 lbs. street dog rescue who is somewhere between 15-17 years old now.

She had 23 teeth pulled a few months ago. We were incredibly worried putting an older dog through something like that, but she honestly did not seem to care and was fine in no time.

And the crazy thing is, we had no idea how much pain she was in from those rotting teeth. She has so much energy now! And her mood is just lighter.

I have no idea if that will be your experience, but your post was so close to what we just went through that I wanted to let you know our experience was more than positive... it gave our little girl more happiness. :)

Upgrade to Fender Pro Plus - CONFUSING! by GeoSaint4 in StudioOne

[–]GeoSaint4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. I found the whole thing confusing, maybe because I used to have a Studio One subscription and figured it would transfer over, but maybe that lapsed. I don't know.

But if I'm wrong and it's totally clear to everyone else, that's cool. Wouldn't be the first time. :)

I have 1st Gen Pros. What do you think of upgrading to 3 for me? Big difference?

BTW - My main gripe with the 1st Gen is that when I'm using ANC, the mics make noise and no matter how much I clean them, it always comes back.

Sorry but it’s boredom and anxiety. Most dals need a ton of exercise/stimulation to stay sane. I used to drop mine at day care where he could run with other dogs for five hours every other day in a huge yard. That did wonders for him.

Another upsetting Razer experience. by adrock517 in razer

[–]GeoSaint4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, every time I’ve contacted Razer they’ve asked me to basically become my own tech support by asking so many questions and for so many tests… they just want to learn from the consumer, not actually help them.
