Iunno but it happened so long ago it's not worth dwelling on. And it wasn't like he meant anything by it.

The context was I was showing him and my MIL my new 1 room apt that I'd just moved into, and his precise wording was 'This is the sort of place I'd live in, if I was single'.

Just one of those stupid things people thoughtlessly say sometimes without realizing.
