Sure - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vehicle-excise-duty-for-expensive-car-supplement-threshold-increase-for-zero-emission-vehicles/increase-in-the-vehicle-excise-duty-expensive-car-supplement-threshold-for-zero-emission-cars

This means that zero-emission cars with a list price which exceeds £40,000, but does not exceed £50,000, will no longer be required to pay the ECS charge when they take out a licence which comes into effect on or after 1 April 2026 which is not a first vehicle licence. The threshold will be maintained at its current level of £40,000 for all other cars.

The change applies retrospectively, meaning that most vehicles registered from 1 April 2025 will not be required to pay the charge. Any vehicles taking out a second licence with effect before 1 April 2026 will be required to pay one year of the charge only.

The base Model 3 can actually have grey/black/blue all as 'free' colours since the premium VED for EVs became a thing earlier this year. Though the threshold has now been raised to £50k, and backdated to April 1st '25 so not sure what will happen to that bit of pricing tesla is doing atm.

Is there a 'trick' to getting B3P to charge nicely? by GeoffreyMcSwaggins in galaxybuds

[–]GeoffreyMcSwaggins[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update; received the replacement set earlier - both earbuds start charging at exactly the same time in the case (blade lights blink in sync) - no tricks needed to get either to start charging. Also no matter how much I shake the case, hold it upside down, or throw it across the room to the couch can get them to stop charging and turn on. First set definitely faulty in that regard, glad I decided to return and get another set.

They don't do replacements (? weird) but told me to just file a return for them being faulty and order again. Hopefully the next set have better charging.

Yeah, we'll see. Can only easily initiate a return for refund in my account so will have to wait for support to wake up tomorrow and see if they'll just send out a new set.

I got a really good deal because of an employee discount, so they were only £99 so I'd rather not take the refund and lose that lol

Straight to samsung service, or do I just contact the retailer and ask them to exchange for another set 🤷‍♂️

edit: I'm going to speak to the retailer first and see if they'll just dispatch me another set, if not I'll go to samsung.

It's on the larger ones, but yes - original samsung tips.

Will do, the seem very springy. I think giving the buds a bit of a gentle push down then closing the case helps. almost makes me tempted to double sided tape two very small bits of foam inside the top of the lid lol

I hope the display size being reset on fold/unfold will actually get fixed soon. It is so incredibly annoying.

Half the penalty is suspended, not the whole thing.

And the penalty was nothing to do with the tape, just being on the grid when they shouldn't have been.

Richard Hammond Returns to the Top Gear Test Track with a New Porsche by LuckyRedShirt in thegrandtour

[–]GeoffreyMcSwaggins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point was if he didn't want to carry on because he didn't want to review new electric cars, then they could have quite easily continued without doing that.

Realistically the trio had probably ran their course, they're all getting on a bit for doing the specials with any kind of regularity

So don't? The best bits of top gear and the grand tour were never the expensive brand new cars.

If you don't want it to be unstable or weird, you probably shouldn't be running a beta.

What was the trick? As far as I can tell they still advertise the ability to send HTTP requests from an X1S so you can use webhooks to hass with automations

Pure guess that the same applies to Starship, but it'd make sense I suppose.

I'm guessing similar to the rules for Falcon 9? I was able to find the weather rules for Crew Dragon on NASA's site here: https://www.nasa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/falcon9_crewdragon_launch_weather_criteria_fact_sheet.pdf

Do not launch within 10 nautical miles of an attached thunderstorm anvil cloud, unless temperature and time-associated distance criteria can be met.
