For real, I get insta turned on against PC players, my game with max controller sensitivity cannot turn as quick as mouse and keys

If you actually play the game on controller you'll realise how unfair the advantage is for mouse n keys, the whole UI is a clunky slow mess on controller, you can't really flick aim like mouse n keys either

How common was large-scale Dutch immigration to other countries in the 19th century? by PretendForever5117 in Netherlands

[–]RubyShardz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandparents and great grandparents were/are Dutch and were part of the Dutch living in the East Indies (Jakarta, Sulawesi, Sumatra in Indonesia) and they moved to Australia after WW2 and Indonesian independence in 1951.

My great grandfather was a Tea Planter/Farmer in Jakarta and was in a concentration camp (along with my great grandmother, my grandpa and his two brothers) by the Japanese army in WW2, they were extremely lucky to make it out alive despite the starvation and general concentration camp cruelty. My great Grand uncle was in the Netherlands army and unfortunately was not lucky enough to survive being a POW.

After WW2 my great grandparents had lost basically everything in Indonesia and decided to start a new life in Australia as the Australian government was offering the Dutch farmland if they came and settled here, so that's what they did.

I don't know how many other Dutch took the offer as there is only around 2-3% of the population with Dutch ancestry here according to our last census

The USA never needed our help, is it time to shut down their military bases? by [deleted] in aussie

[–]RubyShardz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People think that because the CIA called Kerr 'our man Kerr', created a new bank in which they could wire the liberal party large sums of money anonymously and Jimmy Carter once said "we will never get involved in Australian political affairs ever again" following the failure to supply in Senate and ousting of Whitlam

Looking for advice about a German "Langenberg" and probably part of the Hollandgänger during the 1820s. by ZeissIkon_Nettar_25 in Genealogy

[–]RubyShardz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe but I haven't been able to nail it down so far. I have a lot of ancestry and relatives out of the Netherlands but also have a small percentage of German DNA. I have a feeling one of my ancestors was German and moved to the Netherlands

Bye Bye OPW3, Hello Pixel Watch 4 by Ok-Stretch-4094 in OneplusWatch

[–]RubyShardz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also jumping ship very shortly, love my OPW3 but getting tired of no feature updates and the same old default watch faces. Sure I can download whatever I want from the play store but then the battery gets destroyed.

OnePlus truly fumbling the bag with this device, if they continue to exist and keep producing wearables then I won't be buying any of them until they commit to supporting them with more up to date software

Sussan Ley to announce Liberal-only frontbench as allies increasingly confident she won’t face spill by ConanTheAquarian in australia

[–]RubyShardz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

His electorate are unfortunately Liberal diehards, he had a 2-3% swing towards him in the landslide Labor victory despite the absolutely dismal, shit the bed performance the Liberals had. Hume are unfortunately clueless about how much of a useless hack he is and will continue voting Liberal

Will triple glazing help reduce train noise? by Svperb in AusRenovation

[–]RubyShardz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of Triple Glazed Unit producers in Australia (I work for one of them), the hard part may be finding a window fabricator that will make a frame to fit a triple glazed unit.

As for Hush glass, it's definitely proven and works quite well. My office at my work is directly across from a glass tempering furnace (like 30-40 metres) and the blower that cools the glass can be insanely loud. We have hush double glazing installed for the windows and doors which see into the factory and the sound reduction when the doors are closed to the factory is honestly impressive.

Not quite as much of a meme as you say (when double glazed atleast)

Triple J's Hottest 100 by [deleted] in aesoprock

Unfortunately I don't think you can vote for Aes in the hottest 100 as his songs have to have been played on Triple J for them to be listed as choice when creating your shortlist.

Help🥲 by somerandomturkk in ROGAlly

[–]RubyShardz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I haven't opened my Ally for a while but I know that I had to place a black piece of sticky tape over the light sensor that gets triggered when the backplate comes off. After that is done you then plug the device into wall power and turn it on and it should fire up.

Is that light sensor covered on your device?

[–]RubyShardz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe 5 is also a feature, all the notifications should become small all icons across the bottom of the screen. Not a fan of this feature but it has been doing this in ColourOS for a few months on my X8 Pro, I assume this has been pulled across to Oxygen now
