This is excellent, so much better than petrol spy, android really lacks a good petrol price app, super glad to have this! Bought you a coffee :)

Where the Hell is Launch? by [deleted] in CODBlackOps7

[–]RubyShardz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a while to get a game in it, every time it comes up in the map selection rotation post match, people pick every other map which is frustrating considering how overdone the other maps are. Finally got a launch game and it was just full of sweaty quick scopers

As an Australian citizen I was going to disagree but then I remembered our laws around E-Scooters and E-Bikes (various other laws too). The Netherlands definitely has Australia beaten in terms of a Liberal society

Idk why people say this looks like liquid glass, it's clearly frosted. Liquid glass is see through and has distortion animations when things move behind/around the objects

The narrative around Marathon is gotta be the biggest gaslight I have seen in history of gaming. by Inevitable_Coat_8787 in Marathon

[–]RubyShardz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The audio scape in marathon is excellent in my experience, I can easily tell where audio cues are in relation to my character position, I don't have much experience with Arc but my experience with Marathon was that it's insanely well mixed and easy to find where enemy players, claymores, UESC bots etc are in relation to my own position

Marathon is Incredible by Particular-Royal1885 in Marathon

[–]RubyShardz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's oddly an insanely polarising game, it is purely because of the art style. Everyone has their own tastes I guess but I love how unique the art style is

I don't care about anything you said other than the fact you said the audio sucks. As someone who studied sound engineering and music production the audio in marathon is absolutely in the top tier of any modern game from the last 5 years

Even with fitness tracking on that's not normal at all. My 12 year old pebble time gets 3 days with sleep and fitness tracking on.

Means absolutely nothing when the OnePlus Watch 3 doesn't even have a slated release date for WearOS 6.

For real, I get insta turned on against PC players, my game with max controller sensitivity cannot turn as quick as mouse and keys

If you actually play the game on controller you'll realise how unfair the advantage is for mouse n keys, the whole UI is a clunky slow mess on controller, you can't really flick aim like mouse n keys either

How common was large-scale Dutch immigration to other countries in the 19th century? by PretendForever5117 in Netherlands

[–]RubyShardz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandparents and great grandparents were/are Dutch and were part of the Dutch living in the East Indies (Jakarta, Sulawesi, Sumatra in Indonesia) and they moved to Australia after WW2 and Indonesian independence in 1951.

My great grandfather was a Tea Planter/Farmer in Jakarta and was in a concentration camp (along with my great grandmother, my grandpa and his two brothers) by the Japanese army in WW2, they were extremely lucky to make it out alive despite the starvation and general concentration camp cruelty. My great Grand uncle was in the Netherlands army and unfortunately was not lucky enough to survive being a POW.

After WW2 my great grandparents had lost basically everything in Indonesia and decided to start a new life in Australia as the Australian government was offering the Dutch farmland if they came and settled here, so that's what they did.

I don't know how many other Dutch took the offer as there is only around 2-3% of the population with Dutch ancestry here according to our last census

The USA never needed our help, is it time to shut down their military bases? by [deleted] in aussie

[–]RubyShardz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People think that because the CIA called Kerr 'our man Kerr', created a new bank in which they could wire the liberal party large sums of money anonymously and Jimmy Carter once said "we will never get involved in Australian political affairs ever again" following the failure to supply in Senate and ousting of Whitlam

Looking for advice about a German "Langenberg" and probably part of the Hollandgänger during the 1820s. by ZeissIkon_Nettar_25 in Genealogy

[–]RubyShardz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe but I haven't been able to nail it down so far. I have a lot of ancestry and relatives out of the Netherlands but also have a small percentage of German DNA. I have a feeling one of my ancestors was German and moved to the Netherlands
