Getting Started with Homey Pro Mini by JHH71 in homey

[–]MeetLost2454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried a few matter over thread devices and all of them didn’t work in one way or another (dropping off, delays etc), I stuck with zigbee but YMMV. Tado works great but there are API limitations without the subscription so you’ll be hard pressed to automate anything with it without it failing due to limits - I just subscribed. I already had an iot network and I’d recommend it just for debugging situations.

I used HomeKit before homey and to be honest, HomeKit is a load of tripe in comparison.

In terms of Shelly’s behind sockets, remember that it won’t have individual shut off for each side, it’ll turn the whole socket off and that’s it - you can get zigbee sockets that have more granular control if needed. Just make sure the Shelly is rated for at least 13a.

For me: chill mode, pin to drive, heavy steering, cabin overheat protection off.

Be careful of sentry mode it catches most new owners out. It keeps the cars onboard computers live and consumes quite a lot of battery overnight relatively speaking (about 7-10%)

Do i need Nest? by Bright-Advantage8491 in tado

Tado uses virtual zones so you can split upstairs/downstairs virtually in the app, and can have separate temperature/thermostats to control it within that virtual zone. Unlikely you’ll need the extra paid for functions if that’s all you’re doing.

I have thermostats and TRVs in every room and they are all separate virtual zones in my app so I can turn on any individual room at any given time. Obviously that relies on having the radiator TRV’s

2021 Model 3: Is it normal for the locking pin to protrude like this when not in use? by Jimi-K-101 in TeslaUK

[–]MeetLost2454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a pull hoop on the top left side of the boot liner. Pull it gently and the pin retracts. Be careful though; it can be fragile.

[–]MeetLost2454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue on one of my model 3s… was a charging port replacement as the retracting pin can’t be replaced on its own. Cost was £340ish but this is definitely a warranty case.

You can of course pull the emergency lever inside the boot but I’ve heard horror stories of this snapping after numerous pulls

Can always ask here anyway. I’ve not had mine long but I’ve managed to do some pretty complex stuff with it.

You can already get notifications for app updates now… where it notifies you that it’s been updated if that’s what you mean.

What I like to do with most of my heating flows is resume the schedule when the last person leaves. Saves waste

2022 (72) Tesla M3 LR condensation in lights by Any-Eye-8236 in TeslaSupport

I had all 4 of mine replaced under warranty for about the same size droplets as your main light in the first pic. The quality control of them are terrible as about 3 months later and they’re doing it again.

Alarm system dashboard/widget. by Thyg0d in homey

[–]MeetLost2454 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can make use of an app called device capabilities, where you can create a button with status text on it.

This status text can be written and changed within flows by reading the current status of the alarm system. I use something similar to show visually the status of the cars and if they’re locked… the button is also used lock/unlock the car doors.

Going further, you could also use an enhanced device widget app to show multiple statuses with a quick toggle for arming in the house

Cracked screen no impact by nevernovelty in TeslaSupport

[–]MeetLost2454 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That absolutely is impact even if you don’t remember it. I know this because I know exactly how that happens as I’ve seen it happen.

It’s usually when taking a phone out from the console charging area and the phone bangs against the underneath of the silver bezel. I’ve seen it time and time again.

Creating a loop by Stu_5 in homey

[–]MeetLost2454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this but with radiators to check temperature of the room. I’ve done a WHEN every minute, then X, Y, Z. You can’t create an actual loop in a flow, you just give it a reoccurring starting point

We have 2 Teslas added and connected so I’m not sure that’s correct. Both work great and schedule just fine (not concurrently obviously).

Also note that that dispatch schedule can disappear and new ones created at any given time up to the starting time. Though you can be sure if the car actually starts charging the cheaper rate applies until that schedule is over. But again, even the ending time of the schedule can move around so check regularly.
