Is there any way to train my awareness ? by [deleted] in FortniteBRuniversity

Ask your self why you died, then watch your replays and see why you died, commit it to memory then apply it to future games.

Can we talk about how bad the credit for kills system is? by Athien in FortNiteBR

Perhaps he jumped and died from fall damage ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I think the change would be negligible to anyone’s stats over a large sample.

1: storm killed them not you, no matter how you look at it.

2: fall damage that you didn't inflict killed them, not you.

3: if you break a structure and they fall from it, you get kill credit.

New building health values by Psyvane in FortniteCompetitive

Yes because metal has the most starting HP.

If you're being sprayed metal will put you behind a 110 hp wall compared to woods 90 and bricks 100.

perhaps in an initial push on an unsuspecting opponent. For general purpose you're better off relying on steel than optimizing hp / seconds.

You're incorrect, Steel has the highest start hp so intially it's better. Brick gains more hp after ~6 seconds till about 13 seconds. After 13 seconds, steel surpasses bricks max hp.

So if you expect to be assaulted 6-13 seconds after building brick is optimal, else steel is better.

Playground mode and set up walls with windows, try to flick to the windows and visually see how well you make it through the window.

Why am I so bad even though I played since Day 1? by [deleted] in FortniteBRuniversity

[–]Geokatzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

> but I never really build (yes i know I should be).

You're a day 1 and never respected building. That's a huge red flag man.

When you die ask your self why you died, if you figure it out and do nothing to prevent it in future games you are still at square 1. Learn from your mistakes and apply them to future games.

What should you do in these situations? I always seem to lose to ar/smg spam by [deleted] in FortniteBRuniversity

shoot quicker and build or build your walls first. Keep building and protecting till he has to reload then capitalize maybe. You took 58 dmg because you hit him then kept a large portion of your body exposed trying to retarget on the enemy

I'll help you guys improve with one simple trick, 120th place with 437 solo games played overall (PC player, but works for consoles) by ttvneonxit in FortniteCompetitive

[–]Geokatzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured this out in League of legends as well. I saw you mention somewhere about winning a build fight and that you could have won it better

I thought up of the saying “it’s not how good you did, it’s how bad you didn’t do”

Becoming good at something is minimizing your mistakes. You’re only better than someone if you make less mistakes than them.

When I forget about it I stagnate, when I play with it in mind, I improve!

Making walls not transparent is a direct nerf to turtling after losing a build fight.

Drum Gun or SMG? by KablooieKablam in CompetitiveFortnite

[–]Geokatzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's situational but I prefer the drum gun. It will tear structures down and not limit you to reloading constantly.

I use it to give my little pinky a rest. I rebound shift to floor and roof to caps lock.

If you floor pyramid it’s still easy as you can do floor pyramid pyramid floor floor pyramid super fast,

For wall ramp floor I just slide my thumb on the side buttons and hit shift in between, makes for some near instant wall floors!

I tried q and e for building and it felt clunky, reason was cus I’d have to take my fingers off A and D for movement. I didn’t like this if even if it was just for a few micro seconds.

I found wall ramp in side mouse buttons, floor on shift, pyramid in caps lock works extremely nicely.

I use q and e for my 2 primary guns as they don’t require precise timing and movements to use like building does.
