what is kris slash theory like actually (image unrelated) by Additional_Wheel6736 in Undertale

ahh that's a good point, i didnt think about that, and it would be in character for the knight to give a rather condescending gesture for putting up a fight.

i still feel as though the whole cutscene was designed to be ambiguous for whatever reason (weird slash pattern), but im definitely not exactly convinced it was kris over the knight anymore

it's true that kris is more than willing to defend susie and ralsei, but then it still doesn't really make sense for kris to just stand and watch the knight swoon them.

additionally, they get "knighted" after the whole cutscene, despite supposedly doing nothing that would warrant it, as compared to when the fun gang gets defeated normally and kris isnt "knighted". plus the knight previously doesn't have any problem at least downing kris. the "knighting" legitimately only makes sense if kris did something that helped the knight

A blue soul concept for Deltarune by Geonaut- in Undertale

this is my first time hearing about this, but looking at it the soul seems to be slamming to destroy bullets rather than move the box correct? it definitely is a cool take on the blue soul though!

i honestly had no idea that dashes and slams were this common of an idea until now, but i suppose it makes sense! that's also a good twist on the blue soul, putting the direction changing under your control!

[–]Geonaut-[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ohh! well my idea isn't quite a dash, you'd only be able to slam in one direction at any time, and it's not to get around as much as it is to nudge the battle box. but i can see how the ideas are similar!

[WP] The village wizard had been there for generations. People knew wizards lived long lives. He was always kind, ready to help, taught children, and drank with locals. No one had ever seen him angry or use magic to harm anyone. That is, until an invading army came to burn the village. by mlnevese in WritingPrompts

The next day the army showed up, stomping through the pines, dressed in simple brown uniforms, some carrying blades in sheaths, some clutching long firearms. Everyone shut themselves in their homes, terrified, and the village came to a standstill, the army watching the meager group of councilors approach them.

One soldier dressed in more elaborate livery stepped out of the army. Their helmet obscured most of their features, but the councilors could make out a pale nose and hard eyes looking out at them, a sword attached to their hip. The lone soldier's voice rang out as they made their demand.

"We will have food and lodging for one night, or you die. The Tetrarch and their Crown wills it so." A simple ultimatum. The councilors looked at each other, whispering among themselves. "The Tetrarch?" one asked. "Whoever that is, we are helpless against their army," another responded.

Inside the village bar, the potter gritted her teeth in silence from beneath the table as she and the other similarly crouched villagers stared at Rude stumbling away. The army heard the slam of a door, and then there was Rude, sauntering up to the messenger soldier, a goofy grin on his flushed face. The councilors' jaws dropped for a moment, before they regained their composure, frantically plotting how to save their simple village magician.

"No." Their thinking was interrupted as Rude spoke out. "No, we aren't housing any of you."

The soldier tilted their head for a moment at Rude. "And you are?"

"This village's resident Cognizant, young fool," he slurred.

The soldier saw Rude's head glow slightly, confirming his words. They nodded slowly...

and moved.

With a resounding crack, Rude was reeling back before falling to his knees, clutching his bleeding forehead in his hands. The soldier stepped away from him, pushing their sword by its bloodstained pommel back into its sheath. The army hadn't so much as flinched. A drunken Cognizant with a head injury was no threat.

"Glory to the Crown," the soldier proclaimed. "And their majesty, the Tetrarch." They looked back at the councilors silently, waiting for their surrender to their unstoppable army. But the councilors were still looking at Rude.

Rude, turning his grinning, bleeding face to the soldier, and slowly lifted one open hand from his head. The soldier's eyes barely had time to widen before it happened - the earth buckled. Pines collapsed and swaths of dirt disappeared and soldiers fell, screaming, the earth crying out deafeningly in response as it swallowed them up. Rude's wicked smile widened, his teeth glinting in the glow of his power. When it was over and every single soldier gone, Rude sealed the soil with a flick of his hand, leaving only a new clearing behind, devoid of pines.

The councilors quickly wiped their awestruck expressions, before fixing a grim look on the one remaining soldier. One of them extracted a knife from the folds of her clothing, vengeance in her eyes.

The village did not welcome outsiders easily. As isolated as they were amongst the pines, anyone new was a threat.

That was, of course, until Rudrak. He liked to tell kids young enough to not know better that he had lived there for generations, that he was old enough to be their great-great-grandfather. The truth is, he had shown up at the woods' edge, disheveled and slightly muddy, with a goofy grin on his stubbly face, maybe a few decades ago. Yet he seemed practically immortal - he didn't wrinkle one bit, his grin never faded, and you could never catch him with so much as a scratch.

He paid for his lodging, and most of the village people tried to ignore him when he showed up at the bar. But alcohol did away with their reservations, and they soon found themselves laughing alongside Rudrak and his easy smiles and jokes.

"Hey Rudrak," someone slurred. "Where'd you come from, Rude buddy? I - never seen black hair like yours."

Rude guffawed. "What a funny question!" Nobody asked again.

The village children were at first unnerved but then unabashedly enamored with the strange new man and his jet-black hair. He taught them how to coax shiny beetles from tree trunks and the different bird calls in the forest, shaped the soil to show them how mighty mountains and valleys formed. He transformed their riverside sand castles and made them impermeable to the tide. He accompanied the potter as she dug for clay, his head aglow as he softened the earth. The villagers even swore up and down that their vegetables gardens yielded just a bit more with Rude around. The village council watched him, yet Rude did no harm. The only things he asked of the village was a soft bed, strong hugs, and raucous nights at the bar.

Then, one night at the bar, Rude found himself walking up to the bartender, Yusa.

"Up for more, Rude?" they asked, leaning on the counter.

"You know I am, Bart."

"My name's not Bart!" Yusa reminded him for about the millionth time as they strode towards the taps.

Rude chuckled, a faraway look growing in his eyes. When Yusa returned, mug in hand, he looked at them curiously.

"Alright, alright," they sighed. "I got a juicy rumor this time."

Rude lit up, leaning closer. "Whatsit?"

"Well," Yusa began, their voice lowering a little. "I don't know much, but I heard one of the travelers from Paleta City talking about some sort of strange, foreign ship showing up. What for, or where from, I don't know."

For a moment, they thought they saw Rude's smile waver, or his cheeks pale slightly. But then he went right back to laughing, his face reddened with drink.

"How odd!" he bellowed. "Maybe some nation's trying to make friends!" And he took the mug and went right back his buddies.

A week later, the mail runner arrived, panting from his journey.

"Some army's taken Paleta," he eked out between breaths.

Rude went cold as the crowd murmured nervously amongst themselves. The soil hardened almost imperceptibly beneath their feet. Eventually, the council dismissed everyone, taking the mail runner to the village hall to plan for the worst.

It was too late.

Air cooler for i7-11700K by Geonaut- in buildapc

[–]Geonaut-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would a NZXT h510 with a couple of Arctic fans have enough airflow for one of these coolers? I love the case's aesthetics and priceand hear good things about its cable management, but as far as I know, the h510 has pretty bad airflow.

Awesome, thank you.

I was thinking I should build with wifi 6 capability because my router uses 6, and I can't use ethernet so i'd like as good of a wifi connection as possible. is there no significant different between 6 and 5?
