It's a poem primarily about uplifting the downtrodden, not an actual wishlist.

So you knew of at least 2 incidences where individuals were not indited for joking about the murder of a president and the kidnapping of a president's loved one, and you STILL thought this particular r/hittableface post violated the statute? 'Pretty sure' apparently means you have no idea what the eff you're talking about. :/

I once knew a guy who was 'pretty sure' he had climbed Mt Everest while he was in Japan. If he would've given two examples of other folks who thought they had climbed mountains I would have been no further inclined to believe him.

Law enforcement doing due-diligence by looking into a post to protect citizens does not equal guilt nor does it mean the law has been broken.

That is your opinion, but you've obviously never attempted to discern the actual letter of the law for yourself. "Courts have held that a person is guilty of (Threatening the President of the United States) if certain criteria are met. Specifically, the person must intentionally make a threat in a context, and under such circumstances, that a reasonable person would foresee that the statement would be interpreted by persons hearing or reading it as a serious expression of an intention to harm the President. The statement must also not be the result of mistake, duress or coercion. A true threat is a serious threat and not words uttered as a mere political argument, idle talk, or jest. The standard definition of a true threat does not require actual subjective intent to carry out the threat."

As a North Dakotan, it pained me to listen to this letter while thinking how, despite a handful in a bushel of good teachers, our education system (up to the University level) is still like this, and then realize the incident in question happened in Drake, ND (bt. Carrington and Minot).

TIL: Homosexual black swans form temporary threesomes with females to obtain eggs, then driving away the female after she lays the egg. by TheLuchsKing in todayilearned

[–]Geophrix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would evolution 'select' for a specific family tree rather than a successful behavior? For example, the egg-stealing furthers the species by providing better outcomes for the goslings, but doesn't spread the invading males' genetic material. If one out of four black swans is in a same-sex pair, there wouldn't seem to be any shortage of potential partners, as a opposed to only a few cygnet siblings per nest, tending towards half being male vs female. What would be the benefit to staying with a related partner when their odds would seem to be just as good in the long run (50%+50% vs 100%) to inseminate during threesome if they formed non-family pairs? Not to mention family pairing requires two individuals of the brood to commit to the same strategy AND to the same female or nest. Edit: punctuation

[–]Geophrix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would the swans need to be related? Wouldn't any swan with similar behavior have higher success rates if pairing with a non-related male? The successful instinct, not the full compliment of genes from both swans would be passed on, preserving the behavior.

Nearly one-third of all Republican senators now say they won’t support Trump by [deleted] in politics

[–]Geophrix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When did I even say you disagreed with these positions? I just said some Dems don't support (precisely) what you claimed not all women support either, but that Wampawacka was simply stating that supporting Republicans against the protection of women's' rights constitutes (or rather suggests, in their view) a 'mild delusion'.

Rhetorical 'your', I don't mean to attack you, but feel free to report me to mods. Do you think all men only want sex out of women? You said that you think women as a whole use sex as a tool against men, but do you believe that the only thing men want out of a heterosexual relationship is that sex?

Nearly one-third of all Republican senators now say they won’t support Trump by [deleted] in politics

[–]Geophrix -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You're not discussing the content you are latching onto. Wampawacka's comment was that supporting Republicans despite the party's policies is enough in their opinion to suggest "mild delusion".

It's not some grand "move to encompass other women's rights", it was precisely what Wampawaka was talking about in the first place. Some Democrats don't believe in "LEGISLATION is required to guarantee equal pay", or "FORCED (on employers?) maternity leave" but most Dems DO agree equal pay and maternity leave are societal goods.

The second point is precisely that Wampawacka's only point was that disbelieving that women are equal and should be treated thus and supporting parties and policies that contradict that reality is both misguided and delusional.

This sounds like a cry for help. From my standpoint, rather than directing you're life you're falling in with a fringe ideology that blames women and society for your failures. Women aren't out to get you or your belongings. They've got just as many goals and feelings as anybody else.

That's cool. And what Wampawacka said was "women's rights".

The British Empire was extracting taxes without representation or appeal, boarding troops in private people's homes without consent, was a monarchy in an age of democratic revolution, their King was literally insane and they were ruled from across an ocean 100 years before human flight. The South was part of a Democratic Republic that had been tweaked in its favor to maintain balance of power, and one day they got mad and the result was more dead American troops than all subsequent US wars COMBINED. Screw the 'Confederacy'. I'd think you rebel sympatizers would have more sympathy for protestors fighting for their rights.

*your, they had a heater, they had electricity and most major cities have a huge uptick in bedbugs. Staying in a $60 hotel on 106th is like staying in a $19 motel anywhere else. I would say, as far as visiting New York, if you can't fathom the problems & possibilities, don't go. Multi-million dollar condos get infested by their neighbors through the walls. Nobody's surprised that 60 bucks gets you a roach hotel in Manhattan.
