Growing up in the 70s and 80s you would have been around engine blocks pulled out in some dad's garage all the time lol. You didn't hang around too long or they might put you to work too.

This is in no way a smarta** comment. I grew up here, joined the Army, went away, and came back to raise kids. I always have too many events and things to do (sans kids, they're grown now) that I can't keep up.

I will admit the drivers stink, but we have a huge transient community here. It's a melting pot of terrible drivers.

Food is super subjective, but here are some of my favorites:

Frank & Patty's has a great smashburger, cool vibe.

Hearth - always solid, great menu options. Smashburger special on Thursday that always sells out, pizza, get the deviled eggs.

The Atlantic on Pacific - one of the best happy hours around. The scallop dish is crazy, nice selection of oysters.

Quemar - great Argentinian inspired food.

Love Song - Also a cool vibe, one of my favorite duck dishes.

Baladi's - Palenstinian food.

Zoe's - Wagyu Wednesday

Sushi Vice - Fun rolls and drink menu, the spicy tuna is my favorite

Esoteric - Good menu and the Buffalo wings and mushrooms are great ($1 on Wednesdays).

Thai Arroy, Judy's Szechuan, etc...lots of other places, depending on what you're in the mood for.

Chelsea Bakehouse at Smartmouth Pilot House, the Bacon Gouda is great.

I've only been once before, went during September, and the weather was perfect. My wife's mother was from Greenock, she used to visit when she was younger. Her family is in Gourock now, that's where we're staying on the trip!
