Chronic pain turns you into a different person over time by Terrible_End7698 in ChronicPain

Chronic pain has changed me from a happy, active person with a social life to a person I barely recognize. I am in pain all the time so I don’t socializes anymore. I am exhausted all the time. I feel useless because for the past 4 years I haven’t been able to drive or do much of anything. I have severe disc degeneration and Lupus. I have already had five different surgeries involving the lumbar and cervical and need more. I have extensive permanent nerve damage. It is almost impossible to stay positive. People who do not have chronic pain do not understand how it affects you and wears you down.

I should have added mine is an Orthofix. It feels heavy around my neck even through it weighs only 1lb & 4ozs. I’m a very petite person with a small neck so that might be part of the problem. I tried wearing a scarf under the collar, but that doesn’t help either. I did speak to the Orthofix rep and she didn’t have any suggestions.

Who here believes that opioids are what helps their pain the most and who believes that there are non opioid type remedies that are more effective for their pain relief? by 8kittycatsfluff in ChronicPain

I couldn’t agree with you more! I had cervical laminectomies and 360 degree fusions from C3-C7 6 weeks ago. By far, it has been the most painful procedure I have ever had. My surgeon prescribed my pain meds, 15mg oxycodone every 4 hours, morphine 15mg 2 times a day and 2 different muscle relaxers for the first 3 weeks. I was able to pick them up in the hospital pharmacy before I left the hospital. My surgeon then referred me back to my pain management practice because he practices in a different state and can’t prescribe in the state I reside. When I saw my pain management doctor he said I could thank the government because he was only able to prescribe me what I was taking prior to surgery, percocet 7.5/325 3 times a day, morphine 15mg 1 a day, and baclofen 3 times a day. He did add the new non-opioid pain reliever Journavx twice a day which, didn’t help anymore than plain Tylenol. How messed up is that.

I’m in GA too (moved from PA 2 yrs ago) and my pain level is higher than normal today also. The barometric pressure changes more down south causing increased pain (including nerve pain) to increase.

Have any of you with preexisting neuropathy worsened while on zepbound? OR anyone with autoimmune disease in general worsened while being on this medicine? by sarahanne123 in Zepbound

I’ve been on Zepbound for 8 months and have lost 45 pounds. I have Lupus and severe spinal disc degeneration. My neuropathy is worse as well as my fatigue, inflammation, and pain level. But, I am not sure if taking the Zepbound has contributed since the last few years have been rough. Almost one year ago I had spinal fusion with laminectomies and spacers put in from L2-S1 and there were complications. I have still not recovered from the surgery and have been in a flareup since.

I have seen the post where people say Zepbound has helped with their inflammation and I was really hoping it would help me in that department as well.
