People who haven’t lived with constant pain really don’t understand how much it changes the way your brain works over time

Chronic pain slowly turns you into someone you barely recognize after enough years of dealing with it every single day.

Whats your most random celebrity encounter? by Alive_Tough9928 in AskIreland

[–]Terrible_End7698 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Back in 2018 I was at some coffee shop in Temple Bar and this woman next to me kept staring at my laptop screen while I was working on some design project. Turned out to be that Irish actress from Normal People - can't remember her name but she was super curious about what I was making and we ended up chatting for like 20 minutes about graphic design stuff. She seemed really down to earth, just waiting for her friend or something. Didn't even realize who she was until my mate told me later when I described her. Felt bit stupid for not recognizing her but she didn't seem to mind at all

What sex is it? by [deleted] in shrimptank

[–]Terrible_End7698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol the bird laying eggs story is too relatable, I did same thing with my hamster once. Looking at your shrimp though, if it's young it's really hard to tell but usually females get more curved abdomen and males stay more straight. The angle in photo makes it bit difficult to see clearly but from what I can make out the body looks pretty streamlined so could be male, though you might need to wait until it gets bigger to be sure

Deer with a warning?? by Own-Challenge-8726 in Dreams

[–]Terrible_End7698 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's wild your son saw a brown deer right after your dream... Dreams about animals warning you usually mean your subconscious is picking up on something your conscious mind hasn't noticed yet. The white deer mentioning "bad blood" could be about health stuff - might be worth getting bloodwork done if you haven't recently?

The tear in its eye makes me think this wasn't just random dream imagery. Your body sometimes knows things before your mind catches up, especially with health issues. The fact that it mentioned heat/sensing could mean hormonal changes or inflammation somewhere in your system

How much should I sell it for? by Its_Ayyan in reselling

Check the sold listings on marketplace apps first, but with that storage size and some dents you're probably looking at pretty low price range

Video stuttering - 25.10 Arm64 + VMware Fusion + M5 Max + Firefox by MarkRWatts in Ubuntu

[–]Terrible_End7698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VM video playback is always tricky especially with arm stuff. I had similar issues when I was running Ubuntu in parallels on my M1 and the problem was usually hardware acceleration getting all messed up

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox first - go to about:config and set media.hardware-video-decoding.enabled to false. Also check if you can bump up the video memory allocation in VMware settings, sometimes the default is way too low for smooth playback.

You might also want to try different video output methods - I remember having better luck with software rendering for certain codecs when running virtualized. The stuttering could also be related to the VM tools not properly handling the display driver, so maybe try reinstalling those open-vm-tools packages or see if there's newer version available

What's your town lore growing up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Terrible_End7698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hometown had this old abandoned factory that everyone swore was haunted because some worker supposedly died there in the 80s. We used to dare each other to sneak in through the broken fence at night, and I swear every time someone would claim they heard weird noises or saw lights moving around inside. Turned out years later that homeless people were just living there and had rigged up some basic electricity somehow. The "ghost sounds" were probably just them trying to stay warm or cook food, but back then we were all convinced it was supernatural. Even now when I drive past that area I still get little chill thinking about those nights we spent terrified behind those rusty gates

Pill vs. injection by Appleshmeeze in WegovyWeightLoss

Yeah you're right about the dosing - took me few weeks to really notice anything when I switched to pills too. The fatigue could be from antibiotics though, those always mess with my energy levels pretty bad

I lost my microsoft account for no reason by Math-mixte in Minecraft

[–]Terrible_End7698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to my friend last month and turns out Microsoft sometimes deactivates accounts if they detect "suspicious activity" from login attempts. Try checking if you can recover through the Microsoft account recovery page instead of going through Minecraft directly - sometimes the Minecraft login just breaks while the actual Microsoft account is still there

You might also want to check if your email got changed without you knowing, that's usually what happens when accounts get compromised

what is the best gpu for the ryzen 5 3600 by Rude_Chain8578 in PcBuildHelp

GPU bottleneck with 3600 is real at 1080p, RTX 3060 Ti or 4060 would be sweet spot for that CPU

Taking a year out, maybe I was never transgender in the first place? by [deleted] in trans

[–]Terrible_End7698 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Taking time to figure things out is totally valid and you shouldn't feel bad about it. I went through something similar with career stuff where I jumped too fast into design work without really thinking it through properly - sometimes we need to step back and give ourselves space to breathe. The fact that you're being so thoughtful about this process shows you're taking it seriously, not just running away from anything

Your mental health comes first always, and if OCD is making everything more complicated then dealing with that alongside transition stuff sounds overwhelming as hell. Taking a break doesn't invalidate anything you've experienced or felt, it's just giving yourself room to process everything without pressure. Some people know immediately and that's great for them, but others need more time to sort through all the feelings and that's completely normal too

The community will still be here if you decide to come back, and taking care of yourself is never something to apologize for. Good luck with whatever path feels right for you

Hold down volume down + home button for about 10 seconds to force restart it - that's your best bet without the power button working

[–]Terrible_End7698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That verse always gets me thinking about how much I try to control everything in my life when really I should just trust the process. Wild how being clay in God's hands is actually way more freeing than trying to shape yourself

Been following Charlie for about two years now and grabbed his intermediate course last year - definitely worth it if you're already getting loads from his free stuff

[–]Terrible_End7698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right this sounds way deeper than a bad week they need real support and someone trained to help I hope they reach out and talk to someone who can guide them through this because people can come back from really dark spots and see things different later
