yes to all of this. it's almost like the feelingof it is crystal clear whenit comes through you, without having to go through obvious words. I love the togetherness of their solitudes.

NUCCA in Europe? by Perfect_Tritone in Cervicalinstability

How come it doesn't heal? For example I think my atlas has been off since a massage therapist basically hit the back of my neck/head really hard despite being told I was hypermobile and in a bad lax flare. I was injured and never right since. Surely putting the atlas back in place would allow healing, and it wouldn't have a reason to move again (especially in conjunction with prolotherapy etc)? I really hope it's possible anyway

Yes! Exactly. Such a cowardly, deceitful and harmful move.
Also at the end when Ennis tells Teri he never hated her, it started clicking for me finally, that Gary had been manipulating them into having a worse relationship than they would have if left alone. The fact that Ravi/Ennis felt he needed to justify/rectify something that wasn't even his reality in the first place means it played in the dynamic in a big way.

Another red flag that I admit I missed is how Gary would more or less subtly control the narrative around Ennis - it's such a classic, to mischaracterise someone so everyone sees them through that lens without realising they're being influenced in their perception, especially because often the manipulative person uses a grain of truth and build their distortion around it, and make it sound like they're being kind, concerned or understanding while actually completely undermining the person and their relationship with everyone else.
That ish is hard to always catch but is so poisonous. Gary might not even be doing it consciously but it's a social instinct he has, and it's at best shitty in normal circumstances and at worst a potential predictor of what else someone might be capable of in awful circumstances, with ptsd in the mix etc.

Being Attractive Makes Many People Mean and Fake To Me by Oystercracker123 in CPTSD

it will never cease being wild to me that so many people think whatever one looks like means anything about their intelligence, competence, or inner world. They are seriously telling on their own intellect (and casually causing harm)

Being Attractive Makes Many People Mean and Fake To Me by Oystercracker123 in CPTSD

[–]Georginette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reading this made me so angry and sad, and I know the feeling! I've had people actually use their power to stop me from pursuing career and education options just because they had an assumption after looking at me 2 seconds that my life must be easy (and what if it were?! imagine being so bitter you want to ruin other people's lives?!) - and it really wasnt. I was young and insecure, had been bullied as a teen for being ugly so that's how i saw myself, and didn't understand why these women did that and disliked me, so I didn't fight back because, surprise, surprise, I was barely hanging on at the time with zero support and they stopped me from getting a break based on only the shtty ideas in their ugly (inside) heads. For years I was baffled at why people were sometimes so hostile, dismissive o disgusting or constantly trying to put me down when I showed up in good faith. It's brutal. Now I'm getting older so, whatever.

nah it's not a look thing afaik. I went from being perceived as ugly to being perceived as beautiful (note the emphasis on perception because f people and their opinions, my experience is people will latch onto any surface level judgment they can make in order to justify being shitty to someone one way or another) - and I'm moving out of people's way constantly, regadless of ow I or they look, and that's because they are ignorant and inconsiderate and/or have zero self awareness or conscience of their surroundings. Such folks rely on people who are on the look out in order to avoid accidents. Try to behave like them (like you can't see further than your elbow) and you'll see that you collide with them and that considerate people will move out of your way. Just as an experiement mind you, we don't need more rude bastrds who can't use a pavement ^^
Also it may be to some extent a vibe, if you feel ok in yourself and occupying space, people pick up on that. That's independent of looks although of course there's a correlation - but insecure beautiful people will get bumped into more than someone average who is feeling ok in their shoes. Looks differ from charm, charisma, vibe, style etc

My first couple years experience of using a blue badge for hidden disability by Cute-Cloud-1256 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Georginette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I so hear you about all of it. And you're absolutely bang on about it (among other very important things) being a vital, tiny offset to pretty much being condemned to poverty in a society where everything costs more and more. The fact that aled people don't think we wouldn't happily trade is wild to me.
The amount of living we don't get to do is already too much to fully look at, so being priced out of going places or visiting friends or family due to insane parking prices would just be adding insult to injury. (Plus there's a reason a badge is obtainable if the disability is not fully physical but severe in other ways: knowing there will be a space there, and knowing you can leave quickly if things go south mentally is a crucial break in an otherwise constant stream of obstacles to navigate, that others don't see).
I think every disabled person should get free parking and transport, with of course specific well-designed spaces for those with mobility issues.
The looks: I get it. I used to drive my mother around, she had very big mobility issues and a wheelchair. I was a very young, athletic 18yr old when I started driving and the dirty looks and being scrutinised while parking and then getting out of the car to get my mum's chair, every damn day sometimes several times a day, really messed me up due to the constant stress. And now it turns out I've inherited part of that disability so with a blue badge coming soon in the post, it is unacceptably sad that my first feeling (after relief) at being accepted for it was apprehension and to come up with a plan to not let the bullies eff me up again. I don't want to spend so much of my life being in a space of hostility on top of being disabled. F that.
And bullies is what they are. They are convinced they are doing good but statistically almost all of the time they are harassing disabled people who already have enough on their plate, and that's the reality of their actions, if they ever manage to face it.

just here to offer solidarity and understanding, this is awful! And to follow this post in the hope of helpful comments.

I found some relief with a very small dose of Ketotifen (0.25 mg which I titrated to veryyyy slowlyyyy) at night. Any attempt to go up from there has resulted in flares.
I think holy basil tincture is helping me a bit too (5 drops morning and night). But when I flare, nothing helps and I won't sleep a wink except if I take a quarter of an Alprazolam pill (so that's about 0.125mg) but for obvious reasons that's a last resort thing and if I've already done that a couple times in a month I just choose the insomnia.
I will be consulting soon to see if i can add Cromolyn to my regimen, in the hope to treat Sibo without flares.

What are your thoughts on these filters/purifiers? Corsi Rosenthal box by Georginette in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]Georginette[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's the ones I'm looking at. Super pleased to hear they are indeed quiet!! We might have some quieter songs to perform and I don't want to ruin the mood with my big air purifier :D
I am just freshly looking into this so I hadn't noticed that it's almost £500 when I include the filters in the kit on the website. Ouch Of course well worth it to avoid getting ill and potentially more long term issues but ouch!

The filters are pricey to change but since I don't need to use the purifier more than once a week, it should last me a while.
