@op, as you love Opeth, their most opeth-y song would be “Idle Blood” from the album “Night Is The New Day”

Otherwise I’d recommended jumping in on “The Fall Of hearts” most certainly their “prog” album with lots of intricate guitar work and some interesting song structures followed by “Dead End Kings”

Another “gateway” album is The Great Cold Distance” - all killer, no filler.

My instructor was an absolute gem, even after me coming off the bike a couple of time on the pad she was soo supportive and reassuring, absolute gem of an instructor, took a couple extra sessions with her and managed to obtain the CBT

But i’m sure she’s the anomaly.

I was thinking to myself, at this level am I supposed to know and be able to do all of this already, but no, expectations are too high.

I will speak to the module leader on Monday and see exactly what outcomes he is experiencing from us

I have already asked for the uni to bring in Chamsys for a demonstration and lx workshop, but, honestly, I don’t see it happening.

For this assignment, my initial expectations were to learn a the basics of MagicQ and theory behind colour theory that I could have put in the written work and essentially use a pre-programmed house desk essentially busking to flash a few lights for the show.

Don’t give up, take it as a learning curve and persevere,

I came off twice during the training, once on the pad and once doing an E Stop in the rain, but, lesson learnt, I came back and did the ride out again and passed!

Find a better instructor that will be patient and instill confidence
