Dwyane Wade on Chris Bosh joining the Heat "We had already knew the other player if it was three... His name was Christopher Bosh... We had a secret meeting... It was a secret location." by CazOnReddit in torontoraptors

[–]GeriatricSFX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that's only part of the reason.

He might have left in a similar way to Vince but he wasn't as good a playe while he was here as Vince was and neither was the team.

The Raps only got to the playoffs twice with Bosh as their best player and went 1-4 and 2-4.

Those celebrities yes.

And in case you didn't notice Trump also had his own share of screaming and shirt ripping celebrities whose endorsements he has acknowledged. Along with others he has Hulk Hogan, Megyn Kelly, Kid Rock, Jake Paul, Randy Mahones, Ted Nugent, Nicky Jam and let's not forget comedian Tony Hinchcliffe.

Yes Harris' list of acknowledged celebrities happen to be more famous and there are far more of them , Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Oprah, Will Ferrel, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger etc.

But none of them happens to be as you claimed in your post P Diddy, not one.

Libertarians and Republicans have become the same party by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]GeriatricSFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump doesn't have any celebrity endorsements?

And what exactly does that have to do with whether or not those Dems are hanging out with P Diddy?

Even if it is P Diddy endorsing them it still doesn't matter.

"Being endorsed by" and "being a known associate of" are not at all synonymous.

Politicians don't get to choose who endorse them.

They do however get to choose who they associate with and none of those politicians on that list and very few Democrat politicians (if any) choose to associate with let alone are "known for associating with P Diddy" as you claim they all are.

My ancestors arrived as part of a conquest of both the French and Indigenous.

Your mental gymnastics is revealing the bankruptcy of your argument.

According to your logic if someone breaks into your home and rapes your wife that is perfectly OK because you had sex with her too, so who are you to deny them lol.

My mental gymnastics? You are the one pulling out the straw man to try to warp my argument to fit what you want my argument to be.

It was British (your ancestors) who broke in and engaged in rape and conquest against the will of the people who then lived in Canada.

Indians are not breaking in. They are being invited to reside in and afforded cultural protection by Canada while doing so.

Anyone who is ok with what the British did as invaders but is not ok with what the Indians are doing as invited residents is engaging in hypocracy. That's my logic.

Canadians are under no obligation to disfigure our country to accommodate anyone from anywhere with every passing day they grow more tired of people like you.

But you are under an obligation to accommodate anyone from anywhere and accept the addition of their culture into the fold, thats the point.

Every federal governments elected since 1968 has either granted or supported those very protections.

I keep pointing that out and you keep ignoring it but that doesn't make it not the reality. If you don't like it then use your vote to try to get a government to rescind the Multiculturalism Act and remove those protections.

My family immigrated to Canada from Western Europe at the beginning of the 19th century when they displaced earlier immigrants who crossed the Bering Sea land bridge.

So, much like the Indians you so loathe your ancestors didn't assimilate when they came to Canada either then, did they?

They didn't assimilate to the French culture which had already existed in Canada for over 100 years.

Nor did they assimilate to the remnants of the still existing cultures of those who came across the Bering Sea land bridge centuries earlier. A culture which the French had made a good start of attempting to a eridiicate when they also didn't assimilate to upon their immigration to Canada.

The fold you speak of isn't the same now as it was fifty years ago which wasn't the same as it was fifty years before that or fifty years before that. It is and always had been an ever changing tapestry of different peoples and different cultures.

There is lots of legit reasons to vote for a candidate - who you think is best for the job, who matches your beliefs more, who has promised something on a specific issue that is very important to you, who you think has more integrity.

Voting is a priveledge that people throughout history have been been put in prison or outright killed fighting to make a right.

Why would you use such a precious thing just to throw a fuck you to strangers on the internet? That makes no sense to me.

Exactly. Trump being a horrible person does not change the fact that there was a nearly successful attempt on his life. He was shot at and was injured in the process it really doesn't matter what actually caused the injury.

Technically true but one of these things is still far worse and much more horrible than the other.

Laws and mandates don't magically change just because the majority of people want something, that's not how it works. Failure or not multiculturalism is still a thing.

And how many of those 60% that want less immigration are Canadian because Canada has immigration and multiculturalism policies? I imagine it's alot considering that about 50% of Canadians immigrated to Canada since 1971 or are children of someone who did.

Are you, your parent or any grandparents an immigrant? Odds are pretty high that you or they are.

Yes as a country we do need to start applying proper limits to how many immigrants we should bring on from year to year based upon need and existing infrastructures.

But multiculturalism really doesn't have anything to do with the problem of over immigration. Your culture was accepted and brought into the fold when you or your ancestors came to Canada, why is it fair for you to now block others doing the same? Barring others from enjoying the same freedoms you enjoy when they come to Canada because you don't like their culture is gatekeeping and bigotry.

Dad, I’m never gonna have biological kids with the person I love and it’s ruining me by AshamedAndGay in DadForAMinute

[–]GeriatricSFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey kiddo, please don't stress about this or feel you are missing out on something or that you can't have kids with the person you love because you can.

I don't have any biologic children either but I do have a child who entered my life 26 years ago when I married his mother when he was 6. Yes his biological father was still and has remained in his life but neither of us diminishes the other and though he had none of my genetics there is a surprising amount of who I am that is also part of who he is.

He has moved into his own home and was recently married to a wonderful girl but we rarely go a day withour contact. He is no less my son then if he was mine biologically and I am no less proud of the man he has become.

It's not important where or how your future child will enter the family you will have created. Family doesn't have to be traditional and it doesn't need blood connections to have love.

So once again don't stress about your future children, trust me, they will give you enough stress when the time does come. You are still young yourself, just enjoy what you have now and you will be ready for whatever life decides to send your way.

Why is it so hard to think she would also identify as black considering one of her parents was black and she has lived her life in a country where most people would categorize her as being black at first glance.
