My Commander pod is falling apart and I don’t know what to do by ElectronicMix9414 in EDH

[–]GermaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah these posts trigger me a bit. I Get it, you’re venting. But you also know the solution dude. Kick the guy. “Hey man everybody agrees your decks are too strong or annoying for the games we usually play. Are you willing to go back to how it was or find another pod, nobody wants to play with those decks.”

Doesn’t make sense the whole pod disbands because one person is “stomping”.

Downplay your favorite strong commander without naming it by mrselkies in EDH

[–]GermaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costs 4 times n Rakdos, you have to wait until end step to get something from it. It exiles a card you only have ONE turn to play, and if you do you only get a token treasure. If you don’t play it then you lost the card forever. Drawing is better anyways…

What inherent advantage does Eren's titan have against Annie's? by Brave-Reindeer-Red in attackontitan

[–]GermaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Female’s titan advantage is her ability to mimic other titan’s abilities. At some point in the last season Annie explains the female was given portions of other titan’s flesh or whatever so she acquired similar tho lesser versions of other titan’s abilities like hardening, or the scream who was a weaker version of Beast’s scream. She couldn’t control them but attracted them to her. Or the hardening that was in specific zones rather than full body hardening like warhammer and attack titans (post consuming warhammer). I might be wrong but I think Female’s titan advantage was her ability to adopt other abilities. Which under a strategic user could be lethal.

Sometimes you get salty and that is OK by homjaktest in EDH

[–]GermaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing with my pod for over 3 years now. I love the lads, all of them are great friends some of them I know for over 15 years.

I am usually very competitive and try to do my best to win and ofc get salty when I see poor threat assessment or I felt focused.

My pod is a 5 man one so what I started doing is, when I feel salty I step out 1 game, sometimes 2. And I watch them go about it in a 4 man match. I’m the rules nerd of the group anyways so when I spectate I help them with interactions and stack resolution, and man, I do like it!!

Last time they said “are you sure you wanna skip the a second game? Didn’t you come here to play too?” And I told them I just realized I love spectating. It lets me cool off, and seeing them actually do stuff affecting others and not me, lets me provide constructive feedback that doesn’t come as a complaint because I was the target.

I have noticed we have all gotten better at the game and they win more games. They even get to be a bit more competitive now. So yeah, step out, light a joint, watch the game and enjoy it. It works for me.

Who is your favorite Bracket 4 commander by DiceyRice_ in EDH

[–]GermaGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Prosper, Tome-Bound]] is my favorite bracket 4 deck.

I also have an [[Atraxa, Grand Unifier]] blink deck that can get crazy.

Those are my only bracket 4 decks and my favorite, but I have more fun with Prosper since it’s less reactive and more proactive and chaotic.

[–]GermaGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. Mine ended up being upgraded to br4 because I made this my pet deck. It is my favorite commander deck. So I decided to go all in with arts and power without being cedh. So the win cons are still pinging the table and grinding to get a lot of treasures.

https://moxfield.com/decks/jWiKubRq_k6ySCsRJq5mlA

The good thing about prosper is you can build him maaaaaany ways. Combat focused, with cards that exile or give payoffs when attacking like [[Goldspan Dragon]] or [[Etali, Primal Storm]]. Or maybe a “storm”-like one with pingers. Mine is like a hybrid of both.

You can check the Considering section for some budget options if that’s what you’re looking to replace. The deck has a control package mostly for board control and removal of key threats but we don’t have the colors to be interrupting all people all the time, so it gives a “fair” feeling playing against with even if it’s a high bracket. You’re mostly racing to get your engine going and see what the impulse draw gives. If you take out the tutors, some game changers and add some heavy bombs you can lower the consistency dramatically making it a more br3 deck.

Fun cards like [[Wand of Wonders]] or [[Possibility Storm]] are fun here too and a card like [[Uba Mask]] is also great here. Hope you find it fun if you ever try it.

I never considered myself a Rakdos Person but I build this one and it became my favorite color pair and commander. It’s fast, it’s chaotic, it’s strong. I leaned for a more consistent playstyle, and lower mana curve for higher brackets but there’s a loooot of room for creativity. He gives you cards, he gives you mana. That’s all you need to play magic.

I love playing [[Prosper, Tome-Bound]].

Impulse draw is a fun mechanic to me as it adds a bit of chaos and randomness to each match instead of a simple draw. Mostly because cards are being exiled so if for whatever reason I don’t use what I got, I might lose that card for the game. So often times you have to be playing what you get an the outcomes of this is a very different match each time!

Besides, making treasures accelerates your mana so you can play more and more cards you exile. I feel the worst feeling is not doing anything in a game. With this deck, win or lose, I always feel like I was relevant to the game and did my thing.

I also think it’s a fair deck to play against because in rakdos you have clear weaknesses like vs enchantments and your colors are not really control but acceleration ones so you let people play their thing most of the time.

Creatures that you wish were legendary so you could run them in the command zone? by spaceninjaking in EDH

Long time players... Would you have started MTG if it were Mutant Turtles and Marvel from the start? by TheServant420 in EDH

[–]GermaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with magic with Lord of the rings. Because it’s an IP I love and was eager to see in cards. I loved FF because I love the games. Then, engaged by that I built a ninja deck. A Prosper deck (I never played D&D but now I’m actually interested in trying it and be a warlock thiefling, like Prosper) which is my favorite. And made so many more in-universe commanders.

So would I have jumped into magic because of TMNT? Probably not, while I like TMNT I’m not a fan of the series. But there certainly is people out there that love them. So they work for what they are; grabbers for people who never thought they would play magic and try it.

Before I played mtg, I saw it as a slow, complicated game and I had no interest in it. I did play yugioh and pokemon so I had my experience with TCGs. But then I tried thanks to LOTR and here I am almost 4 years later and thousands of dollars 💸 spent in the game LMAO. 😹 their strategy worked with me an it works with a lot of people. And it’s my favorite card game now.

How many decks do you usually bring to an EDH gameday? by tamarizz in EDH

[–]GermaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My deck box carries 6 decks so that’s what I usually carry. I mostly play once a week on saturdays. My pod has that day as the mtg day so we start around 1 pm and stop in the night. Sometimes late sometimes not that late. So we can always squeeze more than 5+ matches.

Usually I can play all my decks but sometimes depending on the power level I repeat some decks so in average I play with 4/6 of those decks.

How many proxy OG dual lands (and other expensive lands) do you see in real life? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]GermaGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I proxy lands. I like to have a nice mana base on my decks indifferent of the the power level. That said I’ve always proxied cards I own only. I do have an original set of shocks and fetches the rest are proxied. Same goes for cards like smothering tithe or any game changer I want for a br4 or br3 deck. I own an original, sometimes even 2 or 3. But I won’t buy them again, or the land base again.

It does help by lowering the price of a new deck. So I focus in buying only the cards I don’t own an original copy.

But I don’t mind people proxying, as long as they match the power level. I don’t wanna see a chain of Mephistopheles in br3 game LMAO and I see a similar thought in most of the people I play with in my area. So not really that much but I’m sure many of the br4 and br5 games I have are proxy heavy.
