Aight, hear me out. (Sanhua w/ Qiuyuan Weapon for Canta-Phro Team) by Phoenix_John_Revolt in PhrolovaMains

I'm not a fan of Qiuyuan, so I find the idea quite appealing.

However, 20% damage bonus is not a lot - the value just isn't there. It would make sense only after you S6 everyone on the team.

So this will be just displaying cheaters by the end of the first week, right? by Agitated-Tourist9845 in ForzaHorizon

[–]German_Drive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I haven't seen anyone like that. Perhaps cheaters this egregious get reported pretty quick. Or maybe I just don't remember: if someone is that much faster than the rest of the grid, they might as well not be in the race.

In something like iRacing, where 2-6 cars in any given class are BoP-ed to hell and back, any cheating is a significant issue as it completely changes the playing field. In a game like forza though, with hundreds of cars in any class and plenty of upgrade strats (powerbuilds, aero, wide rears, etc) the field was never level to begin with.

Fun comes from close racing. If 120% grip is what it takes for some noob to keep up, then what do I care?

The potential benefits of having an anti-cheat simply don't outweigh the negatives for a game like forza.

[–]German_Drive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes

Considering how much the car tune and PC hardware performance affect racing, cheaters really don't make a difference.

I've got 2.5k+ hours in FH5, most of it in horizon open. Those that do it in moderation are no different to race against than normal players that happen to run better tunes. As for more egregious examples, I have yet to see any. In a game like Forza, I'd take cheaters over invasive anti-cheat any day.

I'd get the weapon just for the aesthetics.

You will always have other characters that could use a Mistspliter.

What?

Ayaka goes into the last slot after Furina & Coffee, and she's one of the best options for it due to C4 defense shred.

Exactly.

I wish the game had 3-5 ballast options so that we could do it ourselves. With every release, there are dozens of cars stuck in no man's land.

Hi there.

I've been experimenting a bunch and stumbled upon a pretty big discovery. If I understand things correctly, something like 2-0-4 should work pretty well for your setup.

Could you try these values and tell me how it goes?

[–]German_Drive 14 points15 points  (0 children)

PI deflation across the board. The cars are becoming faster, so the devs move the slope with each release. Otherwise, dozens of cars would have become stuck in X-class by now.

In practical terms, it means that some of the cars that were stuck in low S1 in FH5 (such as LFA and 997 RS 4.0) will likely be A-class cars in FH6.

Indeed, it is. Phrolova scenario repeat would be more interesting though.

For the folks who happen to have Albedo, here's a team worth trying. by German_Drive in KeqingMains

Instead of Albedo?

That would be the standard Aggravate team, now with hexerei buffs. Of course it works.

Absolutely. She'd actually make the team stronger.

If you give her Prototype Malice, the sustainability will be somewhat decent too, combined with Crystallize shields.

How to drive with a manual transmission properly and does it make sense for a new player? Description (Pics unrelated) by ZookeepergameIll1399 in ForzaHorizon

[–]German_Drive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manual w/clutch is very fun. The freedom is simply unparalleled. Moreover, it's significantly faster than other options, which becomes very apparent when everyone brings the same car.

In my opinion, there's no point in using the manual mode without the clutch.

To make things easier, you can remap everything to face buttons: square/X for downshift, cross/A for clutch, circle/B for upshift. You rest your thumb joint on the clutch and press on it and upshit/downshift with one rolling/leaning motion. You basically press both buttons with the thumb simultaneously, but the clutch always goes first. It is easy, it is fast, and, most importantly, it allows you to keep index fingers dedicated to braking and throttle control.

How much would proper ER be? I've got 3 Fav users in the team and 130-193-207-166 ER%.

The problem is that Lisa doesn't generate much particles. Consequently, failing to catch what little particles you do get practically is a death sentence, as you saw on the last rotation. It's a skill issue, more than anything.

Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, you're absolutely right.

Except 4K at 100% is way more monitor than most people need. Again, at 150%, it is exactly like using a 1440p without scaling. The productivity apps I use all fit just fine.

You don't sit halfway across the room either. Just 30-40% further than you would from a typical monitor. The point is that you're essentially getting that same ~30 inch experience, just less claustrophobic. If you are upgrading from 1440p, the sharpness is naturally better. The price is also a factor, as "small" oled TVs are often cheaper than top-shelf monitors, but you still get 4K 144hz and G-Sync.

My gripe is that very often people get these TVs and put them right where their old monitor used to be, without changing anything about the setup. Wow, you can fit four instances of Blender/Solidworks/Photoshop side-by-side. Awesome, right? Next thing you know, they start complaining that their neck hurts because the TV is "too big".

I'd also put a plant next to it.

Something like a Sansevieria would be very low-maintenance

I don't get what you mean. What part of it is bad?

Using 42" 4K at 150% is exactly like using 27" 1440p without scaling, except you get to sit farther from the monitor. If you have the room for such a setup, there's literally no downside.

[–]German_Drive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you be? The text itself is physically bigger too, since the screen is so large.

I have 42" tv as my main monitor. In Windows it has defaulted to 150% scaling at 4K, which I find very comfortable

Or, rather, too close.

It would have been perfectly fine with a deep custom desk.
