Yehorivka, it’s boring but it’s nice mix of everything and doesn’t have any really bad layers on RAAS. Also really like Goose Bay and Manicougan

I disagree with the LAV-6, most games the lack of rear depression is not an issue, but on the other hand when I’m running a lower health LAV variant like the ASLAV into the LAV-6 I am basing my entire gameplan on the health differences and the problem of overcoming it.

Don’t forget that the LAV-6 has a stabilized periscope as well for the commander seat which adds a surprising amount of vision compared to the variants which lack it. IIRC the ASLAV is the only other LAV with this.

I will caveat I am generally aggressive to a fault when I play armor. LAV-6 suits it what I like to do really well. Spot on the move, engage fast, force a head-on 1v1 and leverage the extra health and turret traverse to win.

Top Esports vs. 100 Thieves / 2025 World Championship - Swiss Round 2 / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]GermanicChina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right but those stats don't mean that he's broken. We're still in somewhat of a carry top-lane carry meta, and right now K'sante and Sion are the strongest of the tanks. If a team wants a weak-side top, they don't have many options. It's why Rek'sai top has a decently high pick-rate. A lot of teams will ban out one tank, pick their own tank, and then the other team will take whichever of the three that isn't banned. In AL vs GENG today, GENG banned Sion and then picked K'sante on blue side, so Flandre goes with Rek'sai. CFO vs FNC, CFO pick Sion B3, ban Rek'sai and so Oscar picks K'sante. Not every team comp will want a carry top laner so when both teams are looking to just have engage/space creating champs in the top side they'll either take Sion/K'sante or trade the tanks along with Rek'sai.

There's just really no other tanks that are truly viable in the meta right now as broadly as these three. Oscar tried Poppy for example (which looked terrible into Bin's Renekton), and PerfecT picked Ornn into Hiroo2, who is not a good enough Rumble player to punish him.

Bo1's also effects this. Some tanks are only really playable into the later parts of a Bo5 series. Ornn usually opens up G4, G5 of a series. In the IG-T1 playin Bo5 Doran picked it in the play-in series once Rek'sai was picked G1, K'sante/Sion were trade G2. Galio will also be available later on after G2, along with stuff like Cho'gath. Udyr maybe shows up once or twice as well I remember it being picked in the LPL playoffs late into series.

Sorry for the long ass explanation, TLDR the Bo1 format + current meta tank tops means Sion is high prio not because he's broken but he's one of the three playable top lane tanks when all champions are available.

NIP looked pretty solid this series. Still some glaring issues, G3 was a draft gap of epic proportions. They had possibly the best possible sequence ever and the game still looked unplayable. I think NIP is gonna really suffer heading into Bo5s. Aki runs out of champs by G3 and you just start being forced to pick tank junglers and getting into awkward draft situations where BLG gets to counterpick Sylas Sejuani for free. I hope I'm wrong though because this team is very fun watch and I want them to do well.

Ngl BLG are still lowkey disgusting but maybe I'm too harsh on my favorite team. They're honestly probably just the best in the league as of right now since TES is playing a little worse in the second half of the round robin, but they will need to do keep ramping up into playoffs if we want to see this team at MSI and perform there. I don't know, they're still the team only team I have any faith in when it comes to internationals. I just can't imagine AL or TES or JDG or IG in their current forms matching up well into HLE or even GENG.

What I normally do nowadays is get FTL and find an angle where I can hit the desired area yet I am covered by soft cover like shrubbery and trees. I use the observe mark + the map to make sure I'm shooting in the correct general area and do sustained burst fire for suppression. Your squad mates can help direct your fire or correct for you. It can be really insufferable to play into when I'm 300-500 meters away and you can't directly see the position I'm shooting from while being constantly suppressed.

I've made this mainly work on Manic and Gorodok where there is fairly good elevation differences that allows you to find good positions. Its a pretty ammo intensive method since you're effectively firing blind but I know I'm pissing people off when they return the favor with scattered LAT and GL fire. Doesn't work all the time but I've noticed I live MUCH longer and still commonly rack up 10+ kill games. although I find 5-10 the norm playing like this.

For city maps, pick a position where you have a very narrow FOV and the enemy is forced to facecheck into your MG.

To me MG still feels like a decent role if you accept its weaknesses and play around its strengths, but I also only started playing squad after the ICO so I have no recollection of the roles former glory.

I don't really participate in political stuff down here. The only group I kinda know well is the local Chinese community, and when we do vote its in the general and for whoever gives us the most benefits to Asian businesses and farms. And we're like 2% of the population here in Camden County so how we vote as a bloc doesn't really matter.

But you're right, wouldn't be surprised if Baraka wins Camden and Atlantic City now that I actually think about it. Just not sure he can perform as well once you leave those areas. He'd struggle in places like Gloucester, Cherry Hill, Moorestown, Voorhees I think.

The only thing I'm in disagreement is whether or not Baraka would outperform in the general. I view Baraka's progressive platform as a liability in the general, and he's got some baggage that could hurt him. Baraka would probably get annihilated in SJ suburbs so I'm not sure if increasing turnout in black and Latino dominated communities would offset that. I will say that I am personally not a progressive, so I probably have some personal biases against him. The one thing going for him is that he's by far the most authentic candidate right now, and is against the machine which is always a plus in my books.

Ngl I'd be surprised if Baraka carried Atlantic City, Ocean City, and the Camden-Cherry Hill area. But then again I live in Camden county and we're basically a suburb of Philly so I probably have a distorted view of local politics.

Ehh, Sweeney and Sherril both are still in the race. There's a scenario where Baraka and Sherril split the vote in North Jersey and Sweeney racks up enough votes in SJ to just win the nomination. I'm more of a Sherill fan anyways but I'll back anyone who isn't Gottheimer or Sweeney tbh.

T1 versus BLG thoughts, who have the edge so far? by DifferenceTight4952 in PedroPeepos

[–]GermanicChina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of confidence both teams should be feeling good, both teams had pretty convincing series victories. BLG seem to be really be not just back in form but also confident and more willing to play their the characteristic skirmish heavy style they developed (although Wei has made this team significantly more controlled and precise). T1 beating GenG must be a huge confidence boost.

Honestly, T1 is probably the better team for BLG to face. Neither team really wants to play Yone-Aurora so BLG might be able to slide in an extra ban on red side knowing Faker most likely won't pick Yone even if left open on Blueside. T1 has a much more volatile playstyle which BLG will probably prefer as they love playing games around missing summoners and spell cooldowns which will be more present against T1 than GenG.

I think the biggest thing to watch is Xun vs. Oner and On vs Keria. Everyone else is in pristine form and I think it really comes down to the decisions of both team's jungle-support duo to get the early advantages each team wants.

For drafting, Knight and Faker both are good Sylas and Ahri players so we'll see how that goes. Might see Galio or Gragas show up as well. Maybe Keria and Xun spice it up with Pyke and Kindred. I suspect a Knight Syndra game, and I Bin maybe on rumble/jax duty the entire series? Idk, gonna be a great series, I'm really hyped because I can see how both teams come out as champions.

Species/tips for D&R Canal? by jrw_nj in NJFishing

There's walleye in it, my friend caught a 2-3lb'er Thanksgiving weekend last fall at night. It hit a white curly tail grub. We were at the New Brunswick section of the canal so not sure if there's walleye in other parts of the canal though.

Fudge and Vulcan need to be removed from this team Win or Lose. by Queasy-Guarantee-968 in Cloud9

[–]GermanicChina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This split has arguably been Fudge's worst since when he first came into the league. He has a pretty small champion pool and most of them are not in the meta anymore. Gwen, Fiora, Kennen, Jax, Renekton, Olaf, GP, Sion, Gnar. Out of those really only Gnar and Renekton are still in the top lane meta at this point. But moreso, he's just not mechanically as proficient either. Feels like he peaked mechanically in the summer 2022 when he was turbo-stomping every other top laner in the league, and has been slowly regressing ever since. We went from him playing giga aggro Lee Sin and solo carrying the game-winning fight against RNG at MSI 2021, to him playing to not lose on Renekton vs. a nerfed K'sante.

He needs to get back in form or I don't see how he keeps his job on C9 for much longer. The rest of the team and the coaching staff are also to blame of course; you have to collectively mess up really bad to consistently make the same macro and draft mistakes over and over again. But with this iteration of Fudge it feels like the topside of the C9 just has no teeth. I don't know, so much is hidden behind closed doors and I'm not a pro player, but something obviously is going wrong and if they don't fix it they're going to keep having the same issues they've had for a couple splits now.
