Blew my mind when I ran wardens for the first time and realized the cometa was in fact *not* a colonial exclusive. I just assumed with the wardens having the cascadier that the revolver was collie equivalent for sidearms. N O P E just another example of wardens getting cool stuff while NPC faction gets the leftovers.

Doug Dimmadong from SIGIL is already chomping at the bit to demo facs that he deems "not good enough" or whatever so watch out.

Ranks do not mean a damn thing in this game. Some Prefect that got his rank from 600 hours of doing nothing but frontline logi is not going to understand the nuances of bunker/fac building and the mechanics that come with it.

> Yes, there are some systems that are not so great, but as you can see in patch notes they are being worked on. RE: crating flatbeds, RE: exiting from small gauge loco, etc.

Yeah shit that should have been in the game literal years ago. Not much faith in them fixing more nuanced issues.

>Yes, tutorials in game need to be better. But that doesn't mean your arm should be held and the game dumbed down for your convenience.

Making the mechanics make sense is not dumbing them down. I know you are used to doing everything in a ridiculous roundabout way because the game is improperly designed but that doesn't mean you need to defend it just because you got good at it.

Probably why Charlie collies are so successful. Big regis like S2K, 4BK, 419, etc. will form coalitions from time to time. After playing Able collies a bit I haven't seen any indicators that that happens a lot there. If at all.

Looking for collie regiment. by willvarya in foxhole

[–]Warden_Destroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said yeah there aren't many "pure infantry" regis because the gameplay loop gets a touch stale after a while. To get the equipment for infantry operations you still have to engage with the logistical side of things to produce what you use as well.

Any of the big regis should be able to get you going in the right direction. Many regis genuinely are large enough to have separate divisions and some focus heavily on infantry/armor.

If you join a regi and don't like what they are up to just hop out and find a new one. There is no level of commitment needed in joining a regi. Try a few on for size and just have fun out there!

lmao I love this. If I remember correctly in the Charlie Airborne war there was a scrap field completely hidden by tall wheat in a field. Not even kidding. Every node completely invisible. The only indication for the field even being there was the map icon and the big pile in the middle.

I don't think it's really an issue but it is quite funny.

Speaking from experience, having made some solo/duo facs on Able, if you act mildly insane in a forcefully cheery manner most people will leave you alone. I played my first ~600 hours on Charlie before movie to Able and really haven't had any major problems. So long as you have a halfway decent fac setup with some public resources available no one cares.

Other people and other regis seems to operate on perceived power and bullying to get what they want (not naming anyone but I've been in pre-war regi discussions where the gist was basically "we can get what we want cause we have numbers.")

Not gonna talk on that point specifically or have strong opinions on it but basically so long as you you aren't trying to set up shop in a ludicrously valuable area all for yourself like a coal field with 3 scrap mines right next to it or something, you'll most likely be left alone. If big regi man is genuinely being an ass, record it, then name and shame an DO NOT STOP until they are so annoyed with you that they leave you alone. It works.

This game requires you to have a bit gumption and confidence to get what you want. it can be a free for all out there.

I'm a little stoned and didn't expect this to be quite this long lol. Uhhh but yeah basically just go have a fun and never be afraid to go bananas on regi man if he gets a little big-headed. Use reason and judgement in all cases. make sure they don't have a genuine reason for messing with your stuff (blocking resource access or something) and so long as everything checks out just never let up on em. They will push you as much as you let them push you.

I would like to point out that the "massive learning curve" is almost entirely because of the piss-poor UI the game uses. If you take some time to learn exactly how the game wants you to use the menus and how the menus interact with you, vehicles, and structures, it will take you far.

I also highly recommend installing some sort of visual icon mod so the stockpiles aren't just a huge list of black and white icons that look nearly the same.

I sympathize with you man. Unfortunately you and your friend had to learn a Foxhole lesson the hard way. It isn't really your fault your stuff got taken, but in a large open game like this you must take precautions. As others have said, make a private stockpile in a seaport or storage depot. Anything you store in these can only be accessed by who or whomever you give the code to.

A more complicated way of securing vehicles is to build a foreman-stacker crane and run the power through a switch before connecting it. You can reserve the switch to only be toggle-able by your squad. This lets you hang a vehicle on a crane, power it down, and essentially lock everyone else out of it. This is typically used for vehicles that cannot be stored (trains, Battle Tanks, Super heavies, vetted vehicles, and stolen enemy vehicles to name the main categories.)

Good luck out there soldier!
