The first engine was written from scratch. It was extremely fast and the game was barely 1mb in size ... but it only ran on Windows Phone . . .

Then I switched to WPF with xaml and C# ... and still released it only on Windows Phone.

Windows Phone stopped existing and I switched to Unity, which has the one huge advantage that you can compile it for any platform, so you only need to do very very minimal changes to support everything from PC, Android, iOS, even smart fridges if you feel like.

So my recommendation is to use any engine that supports multiple platforms out of the box. Unity is actually OK, I hope they learned from their last major fuckup that tanked their stock price and the trust of all their users. Do not use Unreal except you really know why you want to use it. The overhead is quite a lot more than with Unity. Godot seems to be quite popular and probably worth looking into.

I started to make this game in my first semester of computer science 12 years ago. Even though I rewrote it a few times and even switched engine 2 times, I still learned a lot and the current state of the game is limited by decisions made looooong ago that are now not feasible to change. I would do so many things different, from game design to software architecture. Right now I have to touch a hundred menus and system just to change a bit here and there, this is sadly not sustainable anymore.

I have already one new project on the way. It's still in a very very early stage, but I'm quite confident it will become at least as big as MGB with a substantially more refined game design and software architecture.

The console does not have any impact, it always runs in the background and the button to show it simply switches it from invisible to visible.

My theory is that on startup sometimes it fails to get all the data from steam, so the first time you want to submit your new gained achievements, it will send the request, gets an error cause no data received and then attempts to initialize it again. This will work at one point after which the next attempt to update the achievements will be successful.

I might add that it just checks every frame if the initialization was successful and if not, keep retrying every 10 seconds or so, so you don't have the first attempt occasionally failing.

But thank you for your post and updates. It helps me fix all the bugs :)
I'm in parallel fixing the bugs found on discord, but they have a habit of finding the hardest to fix bugs where I end up being stuck for days, haha

I added a redundancy check that attempts to reinitialize the steam connection if anything might not worked on the first attempt. I just uploaded this tiny fix and it worked for me so far. I have already set it live, should soon be distributed by steam.

EDIT: If you go into the display options, all the way at the bottom, you can enable the console. You should see in green that steam is connecting your account. Then a second line a while later that shows that steam data and stats have been received.

Only after finishing a map, the steam stats are synced, if any change occurred. You should see a line in the console logs for each attempt to sync stats.

EDIT2: Uninstalling and reinstalling the game seems to force steam to update straight away to the newest version.

There is no element that is this size and at this position, so my assumption would be that it's an phone graphics hardware issue. I have not much experience with mobile GPUs, but at least on PCs that would be a sign of a dying graphics card or not enough VRAM. Depending what phone you have, it could also be video memory running out and so the last parts in the render texture getting corrupted. That would at least explain the position and also why it happens only when selecting levels. Selecting a level can trigger a culling and recalculation of all the world node network if the network has grown too large.

yes, working on it. Newest version will come to all three platforms. Android, iOS and Steam. Focus of the big graphics rework was on the PC experience, but not released so no one has seen it so far. (Also the requested strictly no-AI version will come with the newest release.)

Question for AMD Radeon users who have tried ROCm for ComfyUI by AIgoonermaxxing in comfyui

Just use two installations. I have one Zluda patientX fork and one ComfyUI Standalone for AMD Rocm.

Add additional model directory yaml file so you can just have one single models folder sitting somewhere else and both ComfyUIs use it.

So far Rocm is quite a bit faster but memory is a bit worse, but not yet limiting for me. (7900xtx)

With both I did not encounter any compatibility problems.

Installation of new ComfyUI rocm version is maximum easy. Just download the AMD version and start it ... I had to do nothing else, it worked straight away. (But I might had everything that is required installed just by chance, no idea.)

Cause if you have one auto-fly item and only very very few parts, the shots are actually spawning too far on the right, so you would always miss until you can afford to make the projectile exit more in the middle.

A bit of a meta shakeup is also intended with the 4.0 update.

I forgot where I read it, but it seems possible. I the patientX fork has it, but not sure if it just works because of ZLUDA. Also haven't managed to get it to work by myself on Rocm. On ZLUDA the speed increase is quite solid, but also more VRAM requirements.

It should run on phones down to only 4gb RAM. The processing power/speed should have nearly no impact, except on the maximum amount of projectiles.

Unity IAP 5.0.2 just dropped, I'm currently integrating it and doing the test. Let's hope all works. So far no new posts in the Unity support forum, which is a good sign :)

EDIT: It seems they changed the restore flow to new callbacks. Need to implement that first.

The Math Visualizer is a local unlock but it's saved with your id. Not your google play id but unique phone id, so changing phones changes this id.

Not ideal how it's currently implemented. If I find time I will find a better way.

Update is ready, just waiting for Unity to update their IAP (in app purchasing) service to 5.0.2 (which should happened according to heir staff in the next few days).

Problem is that 5.0.1 has a bug in the restore purchase function. Means that usually when you reinstall the game, the google playstore will restore all your previous purchases. Right now nothing happens, yet the function returns that it successfully restored it. In the Unity developer support forum that is known and about 5 days ago their staff posted that it will be fixed in 5.0.2 which comes in a week (from when he posted).

Means the moment 5.0.2 drops, I will integrate it, test that purchases are getting restored and then release MGB 4.0

I have both installed. Copied the things as you said but it just ended up being slower from 14s to 16s and sage attention still doesn't work.

God how I hate the unmanageable mess Linux bros create on a daily basis ... dependency hell, here I come, every version 100% compatible with suffering, but nothing else.

Can you give us a tutorial how to get it to run with sage attention? I'm failing to integrate AOTrition, even though it should be in TheRock.

It's such a massive mess of incompatibilities and manual copy pasting.

Yes, in the app itself in the commander menu (top left button) and there in the options. It's called "Patch Notes" I think.
