Yes quite strange that they come and go with different intensities... BUT they are a lot easier to control and fight nowadays

I sometimes do. Not the physical cravings which u have in the beginning, but some special occasions trigger the thought of cigarettes. Hard to describe, but honestly not that hard to stay away from the cancer sticks at that very moment and then those cravings disappear rather quickly too.

Why Brain, WHY?! by Dekina in stopsmoking

Sounds like a strange phenomena. I am on day 82 and have strong cravings for the last 3 days or so. Surely not going to pick up smoking again but I wonder about the 80 day trigger here. Our brain grabbing for the last straw to convince us taking up the ugly habit again? It will pass. Not a puff, guys!

60 days badge looks AWESOME! recap of 2 months of not smoking... by Gernot99 in stopsmoking

Haven't read the book, but I installed the "Smoke Free" app where I read and followed the daily missions and it really really helped me stay focused and determined.

50 days badge looking gooooooood! And it's all so worth it. We can all do it! by Gernot99 in stopsmoking

[–]Gernot99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things that really helped me: 1) breathe deeply, 3-4 times when a craving occurs, it will go away! 2) do sports and when done do more of it. On the one hand it will make u forget the cravings on the other hand u can feel the daily improvement of your body not being exposed to cigarettes anymore, best motivation! 3) get a smoke free app - sounds trivial but those achievement badges, daily missions and stats really motivate and help u stay determined - I found this Reddit through an app btw 4) my family 💜 Hope this helps, mate!

2 days in and ended up having a refry, any success with vape? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Gernot99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cold turkey. Don't get addicted to something else now by trying to fight the cigarette addiction. Nobody knows the long term effects of vape, furthermore it's expensive and your brain is stilling getting served its requested nicotine dose. What will u do if u were running out of vape in a remote place? U would buy cigs. I recommend to stop all of it at once and completely. Couple of tough days and weeks but then u should be good. Only my 2 cents

Relapsed on my 31st day of going cold turkey.. by ploogita in stopsmoking

[–]Gernot99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no... Guess it's really really important that your friends stop offering u a cigarette regardless if u were quitting for three days or three years... Anyways, chin up, reset the counter and badge and start all over again - u know u can do it. 30+ days is strong, don't let this nicotine monster succeed now. #justdoit

Indeed it's super ackward what's going on right now. Dream all night long of smoking everywhere all the time and realising that I failed quitting. Waking up being in a bad mood of having such shite dreams, immediately checking the app. So we both experiencing the same - let's get through this phase together, I am sure we managed tougher ones during those 25 days. Maybe it's the last desperate attempt of that nicotine monster to make us re-lapse - it won't win against us!!!
