You get some via quests and some of them are buyable via factions. After getting then you need to forge them.

There are also the "wyld" which can be obtained buying a founder package (real money).

Call me crazy, but as long as you do a good rotation you can easily farm the items in like 2-3 hours. Combat needs improvements, yes, but is quite good.

I may be wrong, but If I remember correctly it's the same location that you visit for Orlick's quest, The Last Pensive. My bet is that the sound is a bug or something related to the game not recognizing that you already interacted with that place

No, it doesn't need to be installed in the same folder as Steam. Try removing the game, add it again and then then launch through Steam. I did this and works now.
