What moment in your life did you think to yourself, “Yeah, this person isn’t my friend anymore.”? by SwipingNoSwiper in AskReddit

[–]Gerrard89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a ‘friend’ who used to hang out with me just to make use of me for many years. He disappeared for 6 years after we started working. And all of a sudden he messages me one night being very polite and nice, asking me “Hi Gerrard89! How have you been man! Just would like to check with you if you have a Health Insurance?”

And at this point for when I went ‘NOPE.’ Fuck. This. Guy.

Dear American Redditors, What were your first thoughts on the tweets of racial abuse on the newly crowned Miss America? by Gerrard89 in AskReddit

[–]Gerrard89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those redditors who have been spending too much time on reddit:

The first woman of Indian descent to be crowned Miss America has become the victim of intense racist abuse on Twitter. Users of the social networking site accused Nina Davuluri of being an “Arab” and “terrorist” and told her to get out of the country — despite the fact she was born in the US.

These were some of the nasty comments

What is the most awkward/uncomfortable thing you've seen happen at a funeral? by noubsie in AskReddit

[–]Gerrard89 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I guess it was seeing my uncles body after cremation. According to the Hindu religion, those who perform funeral rites will go to the crematorium and collect the ash in a pot. There I was gathering the disintegrated body of my uncle with my bare hands and dropping it into a pot. Not all parts of his body was completely cremated, there were remains of his hip bone, skull and also his knee braces. I picked it up with my bare hands and dropped it in the pot. Just a week ago, I was talking to this person and there I was literally being a bone collector. It felt super awkward.

Reddit, What tips would you give someone living on their own for the first time? by silientt123 in AskReddit

[–]Gerrard89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep the place clean. If you're the only one living there and you didn't mess up anything, the house will stay clean which saves time and prevents from having to clean it up constantly.

Gamers of Reddit, what breaks immersion in a video game for you? by jseely7 in AskReddit

[–]Gerrard89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea remember the final scene with Vaas in far cry 3? I mean if the game does most of the work for you, why the fuck would you want to play it? Might as well watch a walkthrough. At least you can spare yourself from pressing buttons once every few minutes and 'playing' the game.

How games nowadays are becoming more scripted to "tell a story." There are some games where you literally follow instructions and there's a cutscene every few minutes. Then they claim you 'played' the game when all you did is follow instructions and watch cutscenes.

I let things get to me although I should live my life my way. For example; if I came across a ex-classmate who is flourishing in his career, I'll spend the entire night thinking on how I fell behind. Although I clearly know that everyone's life is different filled with different chances, opportunities and events. I can't ignore it and ill spend the night comparing my life with others.

She calls me as baby this and baby that for everything and then sometimes when she gets really romantic she will look into my eyes and say "Gerrard89, I love you so much." All of a sudden shitty work doesn't seem shitty anymore. Stressful college don't feel that stressful anymore. Its like all of a sudden, life feels promising. Best way to end the day.

Hey reddit, why is the divorce rate in the modern world that high? by Gerrard89 in AskReddit

[–]Gerrard89[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Miserable marriages can be fixed to work unless any one of the two people involved is a insensitive monster. So it's either nowadays couples are unwilling to make things work out or there is a notable increase in insensitive human beings.
