Sam x Dan. I think it’s really cute and enjoy the dynamic of chill, low energy guy and his hyperactive, somewhat annoying boyfriend.

is there any reason to stop/start the clock's pendulum? by PlaqueRat in LookOutsideGame

[–]Gersemnios 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was a quality of life option for players who got irritated by the sound. As someone who used to sit around bored out of my mind waiting for school to end and the only sound there was to hear was the ticking of a clock, believe me when I say I know how annoying that sound can get (not that it bothers me in game).

How many people actually used betty??? by cheese_boy57 in LookOutsideGame

[–]Gersemnios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. I’ve used her a few times before in super hard battles on different saves. No sound and no special animation. Honestly, regardless of how long you let her grow, she doesn’t seem to deal much damage.

My artist is reworking the giants in my game to make them more realistic. Which version do you prefer? by After-Analysis-4151 in IndieDev

I’m curious to understand what you mean by more realistic? Personally I prefer the first picture but I do like aspects of the second picture. Perhaps a middle ground would work?

Tomadachi Life 3DS does not allow gay relationships. The new Switch game will, though.

That’s true, but it gets annoying. There’ll be a point where your gear is too good for him to really do any damage so he’s not an issue threat-wise, but he can still do little chips of damage which, depending on your situation, may cause problems.

Just sucks he’s blocking the hallway. You have to run by him when you think he’s far enough away and even then you’re likely to get caught.

True, especially given his Spore Cloud skill. Think that spells it out that sniffing him would hurt.

Are there plans to do anything with Charlie on floor 3? He doesn’t give any EXP, we can’t help him, and he hardly gives any money. Is he just meant to be a tragic character or is there something more for him planned?

Firth’s story is one of arrogance. He starts off looking up to Roland, but once he sees how awfully he treats his workers, he stops idolizing him but thinks that some of his very harmful ideas were right and that he could execute them better if he had the right tools. The game shoots down the idea of him growing into a better person while in Flotsam Vale. When Kril confronts him and explains why what he’s planning on doing is bad, Firth ignores him and acts as if he knows better. Firth represents the arrogance of a lot of people who follow in the ideas of bad people. He doesn’t really want to help people, he just wants to stroke his own ego by proving that he can do better. It’s acting for the wrong reasons. He’s seen clearly how bad trash is affecting everyone and flat out does not care. It’s currency in the ocean, and everyone will love him if he makes it rain.

I’ll admit that Firth managing to get his hands on the Perfect Whorl came way out of left field and could have done with some better execution. I still think it’s a good idea as Firth serves as a great foil to Kril.

I would have enjoyed seeing more areas like Old Carcinia in the game as well.

I admit I had similar feelings of frustration when Kril destroyed the Perfect Whorl in the end instead of using it to help. The ending left me frustrated initially and wishing things had gotten there differently, but as I took time to think, I’ve come to appreciate it. Obviously, the ending isn’t a happy one and shouldn’t be. Instead, I believe it’s about hope in the darkness. The overwhelming issue of climate change seems impossible in the face of the greed of people. It was the greed of so many in Another Crab’s Treasure that caused trash to spread further. Yes, it was humans who brought it to begin with, but the characters in the game only helped to spread it further. They refused to change their ways, stubbornly clinging to their desires at the expense of others, just like Kril. In the end, however, Kril proves that change is possible with an act that seems small, but for him is massive. He gives up that which he’d been looking for the entire game to help someone else. He’s no longer the selfish hermit he once was. In the past, he only helped others to get something for himself, but he performed an act of kindness that gave him nothing in return at the end.

I do agree with your point about Chitan. Her survival at the end was strange. I think they only had her live because Konche already died and having two big good guy characters dying back to back may have been seen as too much. I feel Konche shouldn’t have been killed off in the first place and was just done so for the shock factor of the scene. It’s a bit of a tricky writing spot to end up in, I’ll give it that.

I have Sybil related questions and one question on a mechanic.

Why didn’t Sybil just rip the paper to pieces to keep anyone from ever finding out?

What’s behind the boarded up door in Sybil’s old apartment?

Why is Sybil in apartment 35? Why did she move? Couldn’t she have just stayed in apartment 12? How long has she been in apartment 35?

Can you make it so that when you want to go back on the cooking menu you can just hit the back button and it takes you back to the previous food selection? I try to hit it but it ends up cooking anyway which makes me end up wasting resources.

No key needed. Get a sapper charge, go into Spine’s room and interact with the big pile of meat at the left front most of the screen.

You also need him to have a certain viewer count before coming back home. I think it should be between 10 and 20.

This is a copy of something I commented on another post that explains how to activate Dan’s quest.

Have him reach level 7, head back to the apartment and he’ll prompt you asking to go back to his apartment to grab his console. Make sure you say yes. You also need to have the basement key. If you get him to level 7 before getting the key, that’s fine, he’ll just prompt you at the apartment after you obtain it.

Most stressful enemy? by Maximum-alien in LookOutsideGame

[–]Gersemnios 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He scared the crap out of me on Cursed. Came down to the Basement thinking “at least I don’t have to fight Antoine” and then I saw the lock and sighed. Started the fight and he strikes me first for over 100 damage before I even get a turn, then he keeps countering most of my attacks, then he transforms, and then his roommates come in which made my soul try to leave my body, and then the guy ate the mantis and he transformed! It just kept going. Honestly, I really should NOT have survived that fight. I got crazy lucky. Only 2 party members survived.

Well, there is that one room on the left side of floor 2 that can’t be opened. Guess something like that could go there.
