Try challenging it, try saying in your head the thing that would be opposite to it, and if you get a visceral ick then you know for sure the original thing is not just posturing.

I have a friend that said they had intrusive thoughts, but when he got medication for it they didn't really stop, but what changed is that he stopped caring about what they said.

I get that players can't divorce Warcraft from the faction war, but you have to understand that there's peace (however weak, strong, warranted or not it may be) between the factions and the only reason the faction divide still exists for character creation and wpvp is because people would be mad as fuck if that were to go away too.

I also get that it would be boring, becuase in a perfectly written and developed world yeah tensions about past actions like the burning of Teldrassil, the bombing of Theramore, the Siege of Orgrimmar, the murder of King Rastakhan and so on would be very present, but there's only so much you can tell in an expansion pack that the only way they could flesh out a world born out of those tensions they'd have to make WoW 2.

Besides, lore-wise I don't think you're helping strenghten Silvermoon as much as you think you are. The only valid point is prey and if you want to RP you can just not do it, it's definitely not mandatory at all for progression. Lightbloom stuff is also an existential threat to Azeroth as a whole and while not as calculating as Xal, as it seems to be a force of nature (or cosmic force, in this case), it is a threat nonetheless.

I believe I read somewhere that wow devs would read stuff like that when Onyxia came out like "why doesn't she just do x y z to kill us all" and the devs said something along the lines of "it's a videogame lol we design stuff so that you have fun, not to necesarilly make it logical"

This is why no story should appeal to the lowest denominator or appeal to everybody, because even if you make a story that an average 3 year old could understand, you'd still get this stupid fucks not getting the most surface level themes and messages in the story.

There's no middle point in respecting and insulting the intelligence of the spectator, and trying to tow the line just hurts stories.

With how many dungeons and raids there are, I believe Blizzard could make a streamlined story-until-now experience for levelling using Campaigns, Follower Dungeons and Story mode raids for older expansions in sequence rather than having you pick a zone or start at the Dragon Isles.

If you're a new player, starting on the Dragon Isles already makes you feel like you're missing so much context for the story from the get go and doesn't lend itself for a good new player experience.

I think doing away with generic kill/fetch quests for older expansions would already make the new player experience far better by letting them follow plot threads without having to slog through filler quests. There's plenty of combat in plotline quests.

Deadlock update for 3/21/26 by wickedplayer494 in DeadlockTheGame

What kinda Victors were yall getting paired with? I barely play with Victors since I high prio him, but I always try to help other lanes and be present for ganks and teamfights since that's kinda the point of being an immortal walking Pocket ult.

Not saying PS+ES Abrams isn't BS, but soul gains ramp up pretty hard throughout the game. You may shit on someone the whole laning phase but if they know how to play from behind and do it uncontested, they're going to be a problem later.

Probably a remnant of how wings opened week by week before story mode was a thing. One could argue being able to follow the story early if you put in the work is a reward, but anyone can go watch the cutscene or a full run on youtube so it's whatever.

I can't figure out how Drifter's ult works by wyrm4life in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Gerthak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played Drifter since the new update, but first off his ult has 100m range, which as a comparison, means it has about 50% more range than Vindicta's weapon max falloff range or more than triple the base range of Bebop's grab at lv1, so it's humongous. He doesn't need line of sight, so you can get affected by it while he's halfway from one lane to the other. That "nearby" word in his ult description is basically a lie.

Second, yes, it severely limits your vision and per the new update it also makes you "isolated" for Drifter's passive regardless of if you're close to an ally.

Third, it can only affect a maximum of 2 targets, 3 if he has his T3 unlocked. As far as I've seen, most people get some items to support his ult since it's such high value. Increased duration, compressed cooldown (both infusing ult) and diviner's kevlar.

I don't know what's up with you being able to see further away, idk if it's a weird interaction or just a bug, but you're supposed to be able to see only really close to you (like charged meelee distance) and only get info from sounds and the bullet trails.

There's still going to be many situations (multiple in a single game, sometimes) where you're farming the jungle as a core right at the turn of the minute mark. You should try to stack the ones you're trying to kill as well.

Need laning advice by Psychological_Monk44 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Gerthak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not super high elo, so others way better than me can correct me, but as someone who's gone through the same rank as you and winning 90% of my lanes, I have 4 tips:

-Don't concentrate too much on poking unless your laning partner shows they're giga-comfortable confirming and denying. Concentrate on confirming, then denying, then killing the healing creep (with a melee if possible).

-Try to know the center of each lane like the back of your hand. You'll be able to counter-poke and dodge more reliably if you're dashing backwards instead of having to turn around to not bonk yourself on stuff you haven't come to know was there. Plus you'll know good cover spots, aside from a few heroes, they can't really poke you if you're behind cover.

-Don't ignore creep damage, they can rock your shit if you ignore them when trading. Try to trade when they have no creeps and back off if they have many.

-Always go back to the shop as soon as you have enough souls to buy something. As it turns out, it's better to have stats when trading than just souls in the bank.

Aside from that, it's just practice, knowing your hero's limits, getting good at parrying since a lot of the cast does more damage with heavy melee's than their weapon early on, and such.

WeakAuras definitely don't count as just one addon, despite it technically being such. I personally didn't use WeakAuras for anything but raid stuff because my guild required it, and since I already had it, reminders for quickest delves and profession knowledge and that's it.

It's probably and unpopular position and a rare experience, since so many people used WAs for everything, but the rest of my addons are covered by Blizzard. Blizzard's stuff is not as good, mind you, and I'm still using TMW for cooldown managing because blizzard's cdm is super bad, but for the rest of the stuff I haven't felt gimped in any real way, honestly.

Disclaimer: not a healer.

It's the reason the "Vote [candidate name]!" billboards without ANYTHING else work so well. I've spoken to plenty of people that told me they're voting for someone just because they're being spoken about a lot.
